That LMP2 accident looked pretty stupid from the one (onboard) view we got of it, two cars tried to pass the #22 at once and the one on the right basically squeezed him into the one on the left for some reason.
Dumb question, perhaps, but is there only one team still that has a decent shot at winning or has WEC gotten it's shit together now? Are they racing the Hypercars?

I guess this can be seen as the last year of the "dark ages". Next year, Peugeot, Ferrari, ByKolles, BMW and more are coming back. I mean, I really like Glickenhaus (even though he himself is a slight douche), and Alpine's racing strategy, but they are put to shame by Toyota.
I guess it is like expecting Williams to bring it to Mercedes in F1.
But better times are coming.

The universe, look at the hugeness of it... it is a dizzying thought that little ol' me is the centre of it all!***
All my talk of Toyota unreliability and they are the only untroubled Hypercar to date..... the #709 Glick had a sensor issue just about 2 hours in.... they only lost three minutes so no real stress. However Alpine had bigger issues.... not only did they get a drive though for pitlane speeding but it was in the garage with a suspected clutch issue at about 4 hours in. They are back out now, lost about 7 laps, and are down in 29th overall atm.
In LMP2 the #38 Jota leads the #9 Orlen car, in GTE Pro the #63 Corvette leads a Corvette 1-2 and in GTE Am the #73 Porsche leads the #98 Aston Martin by 0ver a minute.

6:15am here in Melbourne, 6+ hours in and still going strong. So is the coffee. And the red wine for balance. At LM the sun is setting, skies are clear and forecast is dry
On track still a Toyota 1-2 fat the front from the Glicks (Alpine still fighting back from their delay don in 28th. Jota controls things in LMP2, Corvette have a 1-2 in GTE Pro and Weathertech Racing is still 'comfortably leading the Aston of Nicki Thiim in GTE Am

Whoops the #64 Tandy Corvette in the garage. Not sure what the issue is.
Edit: Lost a lap but back out now 6th in class. Apparently a brake issue. New brakes fitted
Great battle for 3rd in the GTE Proo class between #52 Corse car and #91 Porsche

Now the leading #63 Corvette has had a puncture a long way from pitlane. Seems they had a contact, so now GTE Pro is a 1-2 for Porsche #92 leading. #63 now last in class, and has been pushed into the garage. The Corvette challenge has gone from 1-2 to the one 4th the other in the garage.

Crashbender looks like he has crashed the #93 into the tyre barrier. Again. It might not have been his fault though as another GT car was involved. Anyway local yellow flag. Looks like it was the #61 that contacted him. He is trying to get the car back, but cant turn it round without getting into a sandtrap.
In all that the #7 is right on the #8's tail.

The #8 covered the #7 pitstopnext lap and just holds the lead.
The Glick that spun may have hit the barriers,. and now in pitlane but it looks like its crabbing. Pushed into the garage. Damage to the left rear by the look.
