While the Glickenhaus 007 LMH will return to competition in March at Sebring for the start of the WEC season, the American manufacturer has not put aside its plans to offer a road-going model.

The Glickenhaus 007 LMH road car, which is called the 007S, is a three-seater with a V8 engine developing around 1000 horsepower. The driver sits in the centre with two seats at the back. The first 007S model was sold. Only 24 cars will be built starting at $2.5 million.

HK Motorcars, the Glickenhaus distributor in the USA, will handle sales on the American continent. Approval is possible for other markets: Europe, Middle East, Asia.

Delivery will begin two years after the 24 orders are placed.

For the record, the WEC 007 LMH model was recently driven by its owner at Sebring.

With Vanwall Vandervell, Glickenhaus is the second manufacturer registered in the Hypercar category (LMH technical regulations) to offer a road-going version of its racing model.

Pescarolo set for WEC return with Peugeot Hypercar in 2024

The iconic Pescarolo name is on course to return to sportscar racing in the World Endurance Championship in 2024 as the entrant of at least one Peugeot 9X8.
The new owners of two-time Le Mans 24 Hours runner-up Pescarolo Sport, the team established in 2000 by four-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner Henri Pescarolo, have concluded a deal to join forces with Peugeot for next year’s WEC.

Either one or two 9X8 Le Mans Hypercars will be run from the factory under the banner of Pescarolo Sport, the rights to which were acquired by current owner Jocelyn Pedrono in 2016.

The move announced on Thursday by the team in a brief statement on Twitter was confirmed by Peugeot.

“Pescarolo Sport contacted us a few months ago now and after some discussion, Pescarolo Sport has decided to build a WEC programme with a Peugeot 9X8,” a Peugeot spokesperson said.

“We are very proud that Pescarolo Sport chose our Hypercar.

“The project is evolving quite quickly with carefully selected partners and an experienced team.

“We will be ready to provide them with a 9X8 and the technical support necessary in the hope that their programme will take shape for 2024.”

Former Pescarolo driver Bruce Jouanny, who is working with Pedrono on the project, explained that negotiations with sponsors and partners to make the WEC programme a reality are already at an advanced stage.

“We would not have made the announcement and received the validation of Jean-Marc Finot [boss of Peugeot Sport] if the project was not going ahead,” Jouanny told Autosport.

Image
Peugeot entered the WEC mid 2022 ahead of a full season campaign in 2023 with the 9X8 Le Mans Hypercar.

“We are finalising the biggest part of the budget right now as the result of talks that have been going on for the past year and a half.”

Jouanny, who had existing business links with Pedrono before becoming involved in the relaunch of Pescarolo Sport, explained that the team would be run alongside the factory operation from Peugeot Sport’s headquarters at Satory on the outskirts of Paris.

“They will be looking after the technical side from A to Z; it’s a lot easier at this stage rather than setting up the technical structure to run a 9X8,” he explained.

“Our input is about putting the budget together, making sure that the Pescarolo spirit is maintained and choosing the drivers.”

It is undecided, Jouanny revealed, whether Pescarolo Sport will field one or two Peugeots in the Hypercar class.

“It would be easier to run one car and run one car properly, but we are aiming high,” he said.

Jouanny, who raced for Pescarolo Sport at Le Mans in 2009, revealed that Pedrono wants him to drive when the team returns, but he explained that he is more likely to undertake a sporting role.

Pedrono owns a company called ITM that runs a group of graduate schools focused on the automotive industry, one of which is in Le Mans.

He secured the rights to the Pescarolo Sport name in 2016 from the Sora Group, which had bought out Henri Pescarolo in 2009.

Jouanny previously raced a Pescarolo Judd at Le Mans in 2009

Pescarolo remained involved with the team that season when its attack on Le Mans included running a privateer Peugeot 908 HDi on loan from the factory, before Sora suspended its racing activities the following year.

Henri Pescarolo returned to team ownership for a brief period in 2011-12 under the name Pescarolo Team.

Perdono announced plans in 2017 for one-make series with a Chevrolet-powered prototype known as the Pescarolo 04-LM that failed to come to fruition.

Just thought I should make it clear that Henri P is sadly not involved in the Project that carries his name in any way.

It is Pescarolo by name only.... tyhe French organization, owned by Jocelyn Pedrono, acquired the naming rights to the legendary sports car racing team in 2016.

Joel Riviere, who along with Jacques Nicolet purchased the assets of Pescarolo Sport in 2010, has joined Pedrono in the team’s management structure, while former Pescarolo driver Bruce Jouanny has been tasked with the development of the Hypercar class program.

Henri Pescarolo is understood to not be involved with this project. :sorrow:

Isotta Fraschini Reveals Tipo 6 LMH Competizione In Milan
Second chassis also ready to be assembled

Revived Italian automotive manufacturer Isotta Fraschini has revealed a fully built Tipo 6 LMH Competitzione in Milan today. The first car produced for the programme is now ready for further development work and testing ahead of the brand’s planned FIA World Endurance Championship top class programme, which is due to get underway later this year.

The Isotta Fraschini staff were joined by team representatives from UK team Vector Sport, which is set to run the cars in the FIA WEC, at the unveiling. Team manager of the current LMP2 outfit Gary Holland was one of the group in attendance.

The car has already been on a 4WD dyno and is set to begin wind tunnel testing imminently, with Vector Sport set to get involved in the testing and development of the car.

As it stands Isotta Fraschini, which filed for a full-season FIA WEC entry this year but wasn’t granted one by the selection committee, has shifted its focus to entering on a race-by-race basis later in the season ahead of a full-season effort in 2024.

Notably, the team also has a second chassis on site at its Michelotto headquarters ready to be built up. It is not clear yet though, whether it exists for testing purposes (including an FIA crash test), or to be built up as the first Tipo 6S road car.

The Tipo 6 LMH Competizione is set to be powered by a 4WD hybrid system and a six-cylinder turbocharged ICE. It has been developed by HWA exclusively for the programme.

During the presentation, the Isotta Fraschini Milano’s president Alessandro Fassina also announced an industrial plan with an investment of 100 million euros, almost a third of which has already been allocated. He also clarified that the annual production of Tipo 6 cars will be in the order of 50 units over 5 years, while a new two-seater hypercar will arrive from 2026 which in the following years will settle on 30/40 units per year.

“Today, we are exactly where we predicted 4 months ago, when we announced that Isotta Fraschini would be back and that it would do so, according to tradition, with a racing car,” said Claudio Berro, director of Isotta Fraschini’s motorsport programme.

“The Tipo 6 LMH Competizione is now in its complete and real configuration and the intentions for the 2023 season remain those of competing in the 2023 WEC championship with the “race by race” formula, as soon as the car is homologated by the FIA. In the meantime, we will be grinding kilometres together with the team Vector Sport to ensure we will be ready as soon as possible.”

<snip>
Interesting history the brand has. Quite a lot of racing heritage from a start making copies of Renaults and then their own cars from 1899 and that led to cars for American A listers and Hollywood stars, before becoming an engine manufacturer for boats planes etc. This is a part from Wiki regarding their racing start. Its not a hugely long history but as I say interesting the way it evolved through the global financial ups and downs, war etc, right through to mentioning the current racing programme. Link to the article after the quote below
....... In 1905, Isotta Fraschini gained notoriety in the Coppa Florio, where they entered a Tipo D with a 17.2-litre (1,050 cu in) 100 horsepower (75 kW) engine. For a short time in 1907, Isotta Fraschini merged with French automobile company Lorraine-Dietrich. The firm started making race cars using this same 100 horsepower (75 kW) engine, establishing the company's reputation and giving its name considerable cachet. It was also one of the first companies to successfully market cars with four-wheel brakes, following their invention by Arrol-Johnston of Scotland in 1909. They were also among the early pioneers of overhead cam (OHC), with an engine designed by Giustino Cattaneo. Isotta Fraschini introduced their Tipo 8, the first production automobile to be powered by a straight-eight engine, at the Paris Salon in 1919 and began delivering them to customers in 1920......

Very cool.

Was highly skeptical that they'd make it. But very glad they did.

Good luck to them.

Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH Set For Vallelunga Shakedown
Mediani to drive

5 April 2023, 3:26 PM

Image

Italian manufacturer Isotta Fraschini is set to test its FIA WEC-bound Tipo 6 LMH Competizione for the first time on April 11th and 12th at the Vallelunga circuit in Italy.

At the test the hybrid-powered Hypercar will be driven by Michelotto Engineering test driver Maurizio Mediani, who has previous prototype experience in the FIA WEC as part of SMP Racing’s LMP2 effort. Mediani has also been involved in the simulator development of the Tipo 6 LMH.

The shakedown test follows two 4WD dyno runs during February and March. The car has also completed its mandatory crash test in recent days, as part of its FIA homologation process.

This news also follows a recent visit to the Isotta Fraschini headquarters by former Formula 1 and FIA WEC driver Pastor Maldonado.

The intention for Isotta is to test the car and then request race-by-race entries for it later in the 2023 FIA WEC season. The aim is to debut the car in July for the brand’s home race at Monza, which is final European stop on the schedule.

JDC-Miller, Hertz Team JOTA receive Porsche 963 customer LMDh cars at Weissach…

Image

Image
JDC-Miller Motorsports and Hertz Team JOTA received their customer Porsche 963s in a shakedown and handover at the manufacturer’s Weissach facility last week.

Staff from both independent teams were on-hand to work alongside Porsche Motorsport personnel to give the hybrid-powered prototypes their first laps around Porsche’s in-house test track with factory driver Matt Campbell at the wheel.

The shakedowns took place on Thursday, while the cars were officially handed over to the teams on Friday.

JOTA will be the first customer outfit to race the Porsche 963 when it lines up in the Hypercar class at this weekend’s 6 Hours of Spa, after transporting the car directly from Weissach in Germany to Belgium.

JDC-Miller plans to debut its Porsche two weeks later in the fourth round of the WeatherTech Championship season at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

JOTA are going to have a busy couple of days getting liveries done and getting used to the quirks and procedures that come with the race prep and running of any new car.... given they are racing at Spa this weekend in the 6 hour forerunner to the LM24 with just the benefit of a short shakedown under the supervision of the factory staff as a platform. :omg:
