Bottom post of the previous page:

At Donington Shakey failed the concussion test, it's the same one MotoGP use.

I was flicking through so didn't hear any updates, but has there been any on those Supersport guys that crashed at Clark Curve today?

I haven't heard a bit yet. Last I know is that both were conscious when they were stretchered off.

The Superbike Qualifying at Oulton Park yesterday afternoon saw Shakey Byrne clinching pole from Leon Haslam and Luke Mossey.

MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, Oulton Park, Datatag Qualifying:

Shane Byrne (Be Wiser Ducati) 1m:34.016s
Leon Haslam (JG Speedfit Kawasaki) +0.184s
Luke Mossey (JG Speedfit Kawasaki) +0.728s
Josh Brookes (Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha) +0.927s

Jason O'Halloran (Honda Racing) +0.978s
Peter Hickman (Smiths Racing BMW) +0.997s
Christian Iddon (Tyco BMW) +1.175s

An exciting Supersport sprint race saw Tarran MacKenzie clinching the fifth victory out of five races. Following a lively battle up front MacKenzie, Andrew Irwin and David Allingham would break away. Andrew Irwin and David Allingham started tussling around in the later stages and gave MacKenzie more space. The race was redflagged at the start of lap 11/12 due to rain falling and the winner declared.

Dickies British Supersport Championship, Oulton Park, Sprint race:

Tarran Mackenzie (McAMS Yamaha)
Andrew Irwin (Gearlink Kawasaki) +1.157s
David Allingham (EHA Racing Yamaha) +1.576s

Jack Kennedy (GAC Logistics MV Agusta) +3.264s

Here's hope for some exciting racing at Oulton Park today. British Eurosport 2 broadcasts live from 12:30pm local time (UTC+1).

Did you see Laverty crash in qualifying? Lucky cameraman not to get hit by the bike.

Yeah, I did. They replayed it at the start of coverage today, too. Really lucky guy.
Watching the races on Eurosports Online Player, streamed from ipad to fire tv receiver, the picture is mint. Much much better than any British ESP 2 stream I watched in the past. The downside to it though is that this dedicated feed doesn't carry commentary during the races but pre-/post race interviews. Somewhat odd, really.
Makes me listening to BSB Radio but it ain't the same.

Really wonder what happened to Shakey in the final stages of race 1. If it really was the gearbox one has to wonder why Mossey couldn't make profit of it.

Edit: what an awful start line incident in the Moto3 race right now. Now I wonder whether Taz Taylor will be allowed back to his grid position since the race cannot be counted as started due to the red flag on lap1

Yup nasty shunt, eepecially that replay from the pitwall, really showed the speeds involved.

Tell you, I love this circuit. Fast, flowing and makes the rider working to make an overtake stick. Unlike stop and go circuits where the next best opportunity arises under brakes for the next chicane.

What a strange incident there at Druids between Haslam and Ellison. Looks a bit like Ellison's bike slowed for whatever reason.

Great ride by Glen Irwin . But imagine that somersaulting bike of Haslam would have come down the other side of the armco.
Now to what I`ve waited for impatiently all afternoon. The sidecars !

Edit: James Ellison just reports that the engine stopped and it happened way too fast to do anything about it. How lucky for Shakey.

Bloody massive crash for Haslam, that could ave been such a very different outcome.

I completely missed out on BSB's Knockhill round but what a start at Snetterton today !
Track records falling in seconds and Shakey Byrne very nearly submitted a sub 1:46 on his pole lap.

Also the supersport sprint race was quite interesting albeit not a real cracker with Keith Farmer taking the laurels from Alistair Seeley. Roll on motorcycle super Sunday ! :D

Yeah I mentioned in the TT thread whilst you were at the IoM that he was doing commentary with Parrish, and knowing his love and interest of flying he did an aerial commentary of a lap of the TT track from the air.
Re the cancer, he beat it (Hodgkin's Lymphoma) once before returning to race.... hopefully he can do it again and return to his career. He has said in his blog that he will be doing his utmost to maintain his TV gig through his treatment.
