Talking of sleep - who plans to join us on the forum for the free practice and qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday morning? I will certainly be here!

Practice one should be around 9-11pm tonight, so perhaps I'll be joining you!

They are apparently 4.5 seconds quicker than last year.
Speed traps:
P1 Hamilton fastest, 1:24.220, Bottas 2nd, half a second down with Ricciardo third, Max next ahead of Raikkonen and Vettel. 1.2 seconds covers those guys.

Get yourself down to a pub mate, must be one showing F1?
The most decent thing about the cars is seeing how much faster they are, even when they're not on it. I don't think they really look any different to last year though sadly.
About FP1, I'm not looking at it as indicating anything other than McLaren Honda suck. FP2 will be a few seconds faster than this too.
Mercedes were the only team to use Ultra Softs. So much more to come yet.

I ended up having to go out and buy a rabbit ears aerial and connected it up for FTA access, but with that I get all the ad breaks. At least I get the V8SC on that which I dont on cable (Foxtel only have rights for championship rounds and this is non champ. I am using a friends mobile for the internet, original source is not a fan and has left, but as he left a girl I know who is an F1 fan turned up but not sure how long she will be here. Also she is a Lewis fan.

Palmer bins it.... red flag
He lost control on turn in at the final corner, spun out and slammed into the barriers, before bouncing back across the track
