F1 2013
To be released on October 4th.
I've had some massive fun lately playing F1 2012 on the PC.
What I did was basically doing time trials on the Hungaroring and competing with my own ghost cars, often driving within thousands of earlier laptimes. Very addicting, but difficult with the keyboard!
Personally, I believe Codemasters have done a good job in F1 2012. Expectations are perhaps too high? Sure, my favourite is still F1 Challenge, but I don't have the option of driving against my own ghost for example.
Looking forward to the newest version !

2013 includes a classic version .... I saw it advertised, and was Canon Williams livery so I guess late 80's early 90's.
Just got a few details re the Classic Version, and a trailer plus a couple of hotlaps.
Interesting is that you can run the 2013 cars on the classic tracks, including Brands Hatch..... also vice verca with the older cars on the modern tracks.
Not sure of the price premium over the standard.
Before anyone says but no Senna and no McLaren just think of it as the 2013 equivalent of the Jack Newtown in place of JV due to an alternate license already in place. Such is the case with Senna, whose name is already licensed to his own computer games. I guess McLaren's absence is tied up in the same deal.
Official videos of the 'Classic' trailer, plus Hotlaps of Nurburgring, and Silverstone are all on this link coming up.

I've seen a few videos related to the classic content. It looks ok but nothing more than more Codemasters examples of style over content. That is not to say it is bad or not enjoyable to play. My understanding is that F1 2013 will include some classic content with the game disc but the majority will be DLC.

There will be a limited edition with the classic cars included. Standart version is just 2013 with classics as DLC.

the only thing I ask for is AI that is just as competitive as me, basically race long duels in which I know, if I don't make a mistake, I will battle for position all the time.

That is a big ask. I don't think many or any games have perfected or got anywhere near decent AI performance (let alone predictability in behaviour).

F1 2012? Yes, received it earlier in the week. I'm know I'm late in playing this game but I just couldn't be bothered spending $50-70 on it, so I waited until I could buy it for $30. I have F1 2011, which I like, but I actually find F1 2012 a little easier. In 2011 I need almost full TC as I find it almost impossible to exit a corner without spinning. With 2012 the only assist I need is auto-gearbox. I also find the handing in 2012 is a little more predictable.
I like the Champion Challenges as well. I haven't started a career yet as I noticed the minimum race distance in 25% and for me that's too long.

Compared to F1C I find it horrible to drive.
Have you bought it on PC or on PS3? Depending on the platform, we could have some nice time competitions focusing on one particular track.

PS3. I laugh at people who complain about the realism of games. I mean come on, seriously? GAME.... Clue is in the meaning of the word.... Either take it for what it is or go outside and play with traffic.
I agree with Metzo, F1-2011 isn't as bad as people made it out to be. Perhaps expectations of these games are far too high. I'm not surprised but I do find it funny when people play these games then complain they are nothing like the real thing. Like the majority of people know what it is like to pilot an F1 car, let alone any type of race car for that matter.
