This is still the greatest satire on the national soul of the Danes, in rock music. C. V. Jørgensen is probably not well-known outside of his country. Perhaps he's too Danish. In any case, there are very few of his poetic calibre. You'll find tons of it in the traditional Danish revue, but only a handful or so, achieved the same level of biting meciless satire as C. V did, in pop or rock music. Even Gasolin' didn't, only occasionally, with the help from Mogens "Mucho" Mogensen, the band's house lyricist. John Mogensen was one of the greatest, maybe you'd like some of his stuff. He played the same role in Danish music as I suppose Vreeswijk did in Sweden, but the latter was a far superior interpreter, storyteller and musician.



There's only one per generation, per nation, and there haven't been any, here, for like 30 years. Meanwhile, they've almost all died. So what they do is, they dig up the poor man, and run it all by us again, plus rare albeit shitty live recordings and bonus tracks, and whatnot, stuck at the end of box set CD4, and they STILL don't get the point. So, the satire was well and truly justified, all along.

The Danes really are a bunch of idiots.
