I always liked this one of Jim at Wigram in 1968 (Tasman)

R.I.P Jimmy.

Like they used to say, Jim was the next Fangio. I think if not for that fateful day at Hockenheim, he'd have gone forward to becoming Formula 1's greatest legend.

But it's not Amon following, it's Scarfiotti.

Slightly bigger version:

There is no doubt that Clark was one of the best drivers ever. But shouldn't he perhaps have made a bigger issue with Chapman about the reliability of the Lotus cars. Because he was by far the best driver in the field and the reliability problems of the Lotus prevented Jimmy from winning 2 more titles before 1968.

I also read somewhere that Clark wanted to reire at the end of the year. Does anyone know more about that?

For those that may have missed this on Clark.....

Surely someone of the stature, exceptional talent and historical significance in F1 as the incomparable JC deserves some sort of exception to that sort of pigeon holing mentality. Personally I think it would be a shame to limit JC to pictures alone. He is big enough an attraction (certainly with the forums membership to warrant a thread of his own rather than be thrown in to other less significant pictures as some form of 'A.N.Other'

I do agree that it would be nice to have some words, even though a picture tells a thousand words as they say. Perhaps someone may add some JC anecdotes, stories, memories, or thoughts on him......

Without wishing to be rude, and no offence intended, that is a comment I would propably link to someone like Ron Dennis.....

Would you care to redress the balance by contributing some words as captions to the pictures.
