Luiz Razia was the original intended replacement for Timo Glock at Marussia for the 2013 Season. Timo had been contracted until the end of 2014 but lack of funds forced the German out. Razia got as far as the first pre-season test but then his sponsors failed to pay up and he was replaced by the late Jules Bianchi.

ARCA star Tim Steele was set to move to the NASCAR Winston Cup series in 1998. His father, Harold, and Green Bay Packers Quarterback Brett Favre planned to buy a majority stake in Bud Moore Engineering, who were on the verge of bankruptcy due to a lack of sponsors. They would also bring sponsors Nike and Sony into NASCAR.

However, just 10 days before the agreement was set to be made official, Steele suffered serious injuries after a practice crash at Atlanta. Steele suffered brain damage in the accident, and was told his body would be unable to sustain another trauma. Steele would eventually return to ARCA racing midway through 1998, however as a result of his injuries, the deal with his father, Favre and Moore fell through.

Bud Moore's team would struggle on for the next 3 years, making limited starts with Derrike Cope and Ted Musgrave. In mid 2000, the lack of sponsorship finally caught up with the team and it was forced to close for good, marking a sad end to one of NASCAR's most successful teams.

I guess that was just unfounded fantasy, based on Michael driving for Newman-Haas in America. That team had no basis or finance to do F1, and was not likely to even try, while Lola was probably already in negotiations with Beppe Lucchini. The 1985-86 entry was only Lola in name, it had no connection to the British company, and the company behind it (FORCE) was long gone.
