As I type this, there are a smidge over 26 hours to FP1 and when your picks have to be fully edited (should you wish to do so).

@Vassago you did say you were going to play, so this is a reminder that you haven't put any picks in yet.

I was just copying and pasting the picks onto another document so that I can do the scoring on them after I've seen the race and I noticed that we have an issue.

@Picci @Matt @SBan83

All three of you have specified a driver that you think will DNF, when in fact you should have been predicting How many cars will DNF?.

Since is the first round and I am feeling generous, I will give you half the points assigned for this pick if your driver does DNF. I feel this is only fair because I probably should have noticed before that they were wrong and given you a chance to amend them before the deadline.

To be fair to everyone else, if they get within 2 of the correct number of DNFs on their guess, I'll also award half points to them as well.

This will stand for this round only. From now on, I'll try to keep a closer eye on the picks and if there are mistakes that I don't happen to spot I'll have to be strict and say tough luck, sorry.

Here we are then, the result for the first round of Picks & Mix 2024.

Some of us got off to a flyer, some of us need to work a bit harder apparently but there are plenty of races still to go.

When it came to 13th on the grid, only Picci got Albon and scored 10 points. P.Cornelius Scipio, Matt and SBan83 all had their picks come either 12th or 14th and they scored 5 points. Monte Cristo, Everso Biggyballies and myself scored 0.

Last starter had us all fooled, no one thought it would be Gasly, indeed I'd got him to start 13th, oopsie, so no one scored points there.

Fastest Lap Most of us picked Max for this one and scored here.

Driver finishing 11th No one picked Zhou to finish 11th, but Matt picked up 5 points there for picking Stroll who finished in 10th.

DNFs. Now, I hope you all read the previous post I put about this, I have scored it differently this go around as I obviously didn't make it clear as to what we were picking. As I said from now on it's the number of DNFs in the race, not who will DNF first. As it goes, we had no DNFs this race, so no one scored points here either.


Bonus points for the podium finish

1st Verstappen
2nd Perez
3rd Sainz.

We had mixed results here, we all got 10 for picking Max to win, several of us got Perez but no always in the right place and Monte Cristo was the only one of us who put Sainz as being on the podium and in 3rd, so well done there.

To the totals and leader board then, of course it's the first race so they're the same thing.

Huge congratulations to @Matt , he's off to a flyer and is leading the table. It's now up to the rest of us to catch and pass him if we can
