Until now, it never existed but someone has created one!

It works with F1 '97 and GPL. Still working on getting it running with ICR2.

In the 90s, "before" Direct3D and OpenGL there was 3dfx (Glide) and Rendition Verite.

The last games that came out that supported those graphics engines/formats were released around 99-01 I believe. Since then it's not been possible to play 3dfx or Rendition games, because modern graphics cards don't support it (they don't speak the same language).

For 3dfx, there are already wrappers. It's called a wrapper because you can think of it as a chocolate bar wrapper. The chocolate inside is the original graphics engine, and someone created some program that wraps around it. The wrapper translates the language of the old graphics format into something modern cards can understand.

Until now no one has ever made a Rendition wrapper. GPL used Rendition back in the day so it's really exciting to see it (even though we can now play in D3D/OGL instead).

Im glad I am not the only one that didnt have a clue what it was all about. It went right over my head I must admit.
Thanks @PTRACER for the explanation. I now understand its function and purpose.
