Bottom post of the previous page:

Don't victim blame Ballies. Abuse towards his family is not a case of "well if he hadn't done x, y or z, it wouldn't have happened"

That's like saying well you could have avoided being sexually assaulted if you'd not gone out late at night.

A Comment Following The Brazil GP
The Team has released the following comment.

Written by Oracle Red Bull Racing

As a team we made some mistakes in Brazil. We had not envisaged the situation that unfolded on the last lap and we had not agreed a strategy for such a scenario before the race. Regretfully, Max was only informed at the final corner of the request to give up position without all the necessary information being relayed. This put Max, who has always been an open and fair team player, in a compromising situation with little time to react which was not our intention. Following the race Max spoke openly and honestly, allowing for both drivers to resolve any outstanding issues or concerns. The Team accept Max's reasoning, the conversation was a personal matter which will remain private between the team and no further comment will be made.

The events that followed from a social media point of view are completely unacceptable. The abusive online behaviour towards Max, Checo, the Team and their respective families is shocking and saddening and unfortunately is something that we as a sport are having to address with depressing regularity. There is no place for it in racing or society as a whole and we need to do and be better. At the end of the day this is a sport, we are here to race. Death threats, hate mail, vitriol towards extended family members is deplorable. We value inclusion and want a safe space for everyone to work in and enjoy our sport. The abuse needs to stop.

Lol. That's nice. But Max made it pretty clear "No."

Not "What? Why? Oops, ran out of time to give the place back. Sozzles! Maybe next time"

But "No. I told you before. No."

An awful lot of ambiguous and totally wrong bullshit there from Horner. Maybe he made the statement without actually listening to the radio messages we were hearing on air.

This other bit made me smile, about Ferrari's episode being more public..... ORLY. I dont recall much about the Ferrari one tbh.... until post race Binotto said the reasons why, and they fitted exactly how it played out.... Alonso and Max finished within a second of Leclerc with Carlos 5 seconds up the road.... dropping Carlos back behind Charles ran the big risk of Carlos being swallowed up by Max and Nando with the team losing more points to Mercedes as a result, and with 2nd in the WCC and the associated $$$ at stake.
Asked about the (Red Bull) situation playing out in public via team radio Horner said: “I think it was probably a little less public than Ferrari's. Look, I think the thing is, it's very clear going into Abu Dhabi as a team, we're going to do the best that we can for Checo to finish second in the World Championship.

“And it's a straight fight between the two, they're tied on points, and whatever we can do as a team - and Max is obviously very much part of that team - we will do to help Checo achieve that goal.

“As a team, and Max has made that clear as well, whatever we can do, to achieve that, as a team we will.

“It's something that we've never achieved as a team previously, even in the V8 era.
Really Mr Horner..... and you are usually such a polished bullshit artist. Not your finest handling or response.

As I mentioned in the Abu Dhabi thread it does set us up with some interesting potential scenarios for this weekend. How far will Max go to make amends and help Sergio. Hint: He wasnt worried about running into Hamilton last weekend, more or less saying he (Max wasnt going to back out and if Lewis didnt there was going to be a crash.) Nothing hanging on it for Max.

It's really rather funny how fans think they can run an F1 team better than those who actually do it, but "fans" who think they need to insult those who do (and even their family members!) only make me wanna vomit. I know, it's only envy, but it's a particularly dark facet of human behaviour. Make a fool of yourselves on forums and social media as much as you like, but to personally address team members with hateful content is simply not acceptable.

A black member of red bull racing posted on twitter about how he got searched at the airport AGAIN, and it's always his, not other people.

Did the Lewis Hamilton fans, who are proudly anti-racist like their god back him?

No, they abused him. That's what he gets for being part of "red bull racist" etc.

It's nice to know they're continuing to be as hypocritical as ever.

This is the same topic as the "Boo-ing" one...
We (as a racing community) are allowing and encouraging fans to display toxic behaviour on line and at the races. What do we need to do to stop it?
