NEWS!

Penske signs McLaughlin to long-term deal
https://racer.com/2022/09/07/penske-sig ... term-deal/

He certainly deserves it.

But here's a big one...

Juncos Hollinger expanding to two cars for 2023 IndyCar season
https://racer.com/2022/09/07/juncos-hol ... ar-season/

God knows how, given they're sponsoring themselves on the sidepods. But whatever.
Along with one or two IndyCar veterans, drivers from Formula 2 and Indy Lights are expected to be among the final candidates for the second seat.
Screams pay driver to me.

Certainly seems to have ticked his boxes.... has a US wife, loves his job and has settled in all round, so that side all fits. Not to forget the old saying, "Happy wife, happy life".

OK so now Indycar teams are headhunting big name F1 tech guys to jump the pond.....

RLL IndyCar team hires former RBR and McLaren F1 tech chief

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s IndyCar team has announced Stefano Sordo, currently McLaren F1 team’s director of vehicle performance, as its new technical director. Sordo, who has over 20 years of engineering experience in Formula 1, will join the team on October 1.

Sordo spent the past six seasons with McLaren Racing F1 as head and director of vehicle performance and, prior to that, spent 10 seasons with Red Bull Racing as an aero performance team leader, then head of aero performance. Before that, Sordo enjoyed spells as race engineer at RBR, at what was then called Scuderia Toro Rosso, at Jaguar Racing and at Arrows.

RLL's statement today states that Sordo will now "oversee a multi-tiered engineering structure at the team's new headquarters in Zionsville, Indiana that will have an emphasis on a variety of areas and lay the foundation for the team to achieve their goals of becoming a consistent front-running team."

Paretta planning expanded 2023 schedule for De Silvestro

Beth Paretta isn’t ready to declare how many NTT IndyCar Series races Simona De Silvestro will do next year in the No. 16 Paretta Autosport Chevy, but she’s getting close to an answer.

“I’m really happy that we’ve been able to do what we set out to do,” Paretta told RACER. “We said we’d do three races, and we then added a fourth this weekend in Laguna Seca, and as I look at 2023, we’d like to do more than four races. That would be progress.

“I know everybody wants to say they’ll do a full season, and that’s our goal eventually. Is that next year? I don’t know if it is or if it’s not. But if it’s more than four races, then that’s positive progress we’d be happy with and we’re trying to be realistic about the rate that we grow, as well.”

OK it is time for another Bus Bros Episode.....

BUS BROS Episode 11: This is Chaos

The Bros are back from Portland. Superstar David Malukas makes an appearance, visits some fans, and there's entirely too many donuts. Enjoy!

Oh and its RIP time on the show.... for Connor Daly's Mullet. :haha:

I think Malukas is now an honorary member of the Bus Bros ,.... as a cousin. Funny guy. Did some amusing interviews not telling people who he was. Worked until someone recognised him!.

Third engine manufacturer? Nope. https://racer.com/2022/09/09/indycar-co ... e-partner/

Power has a deal with Penske for 2023. Looks like they'll extend an extra year or two. https://racer.com/2022/09/09/new-deal-f ... checklist/

Malukas hoping for a standalone Indycar team soon. https://racer.com/2022/09/09/hmd-buildi ... r-program/

And some rumour news for the Swedes with Lundquist in Pruett's silly season wrap. He'll go to DCR if Sato goes to Andretti or quits full time racing. https://racer.com/2022/09/09/pruett-ind ... a-edition/
