De Pasquale and Davison join Dick Johnson Racing. ***Confirmed***
The worst kept paddock secret has now been confirmed.....
Anton was confirmed a couple of days ago to be out of Erebus afyer a three year stint, and in that time has shown his potential with a race win and several podiums. He is ready for the next step up the ladder in his career so good luck to him.
For Davison its a bit of a full circle for him,, returning to the squad for which he cut his teeth in back when he made his Supercars debut.... Will drove for three years from 2006 (following a year as a co-driver alongside Steven Johnson in 2005).
It marks a return to full-time competition for Will, after stepping out of a primary driver role midway through the 2020 campaign. He was starting to get some good results in the Milwaukee / Team 23 Mustang when the team lost its backing and folded when Covid came along. He certainly has plenty of experience and has always been a talent. You dont win Bathurst by luck alone.
I dont think either of them are a ScottyMac, but both are certainly handy punters who, subject to the car continuing to perform should be capable of wins. De Pasquale is still in the early stage of his career and has continued.to impress. I think they should make a good pair and wish them and the team the best of luck in its knew / return to Dick Jonson Racing,... without Penske.(although they will still be involved as a sponsor and behind the scenes helper.
I guess the next news we need to hear is if Ludo Lacroix the genius behind the scenes and previously Scott's engineer after joining DJRTP from T888 when Penske came on board. I think that will be key to the whole transition of the team.
