Also, following this race, I propose to the council that @Star makes the next race preview thread. To see if he can follow the necessary guidelines and hence be deemed a worthy member of this board.

Star wrote: 3 years ago I live fairly close to Silverstone, other years I've watched the race and when it's started to rain there I knew I'd be getting rain in about an hour or so. Why does this matter? Simple, my weather forecast for next weekend currently reads as follows:

Friday 7th August: 31C clear blue skies and sunshine
Saturday 8th August: 31C clear blue skies and sunshine
Sunday 9th August: 27C clear blue skies and sunshine

That will be two races at Silverstone and not a drop of rain. I know, you're shocked stunned and amazed aren't you? :haha:
There's still enough time for some epic thunderstorms to appear on Sunday's forecast!

Awww, so cute, thanks

Yes I can confess I am a woman, though I'm going to take it as a compliment that you didn't notice. It means I am just one of the guys here and that is what I wanted to be, so yay me, I managed it ;)

I will be honoured to accept the chance to start the next race preview thread, I am grateful to have such an honour bestowed upon me and I will endeavour not to let you down

I was thinking this one.... :haha: (seeing as you (tried to)turn Star into a man.) Plus taking on the quirkier side of TFL and it's existing members must be a bit like taking a walk on the wildside for any new member.

Alfa have confirmed they are wasting FP1/apeasing their sponsors this weekend..... Robert Kubica is having a play in Gio's car.
He already featured in opening practice for the Styrian Grand Prix and the Hungarian Grand Prix last month as part of his sponsorship /pay drive agreement with the team.

Trust me, being a new member on an F1 forum is always daunting, especially when there is an existing group of friends who have been there a while. It's even harder as a woman sometimes as some men over the years have just dismissed any female opinions for some reason. It's much better than it used to be and I can honestly say I haven't had any reason to complain here, you've been a lovely welcoming group and that is very much appreciated

Oh I can do quirky ;) I am already excited about the next race thread, I just hope you will all like it/approve

As Bernie once famously said on USTV (I think about Danica Patrick).... Women should stay in the kitchen dressed in white like all the other domestic appliances.
Have to say it doesn't work like that in my house where I am cook cleaner bottlewasher, laundry maid etc.... and my female cat definitely rules the roost.... she just sheds hair everywhere, demands food, and throws up if she has to eat dry food (which is all her 'brother' will eat).... and gives me that, 'clean it up' look. :haha:
