Well I saw the race out until the end.... felt sorry for Tsunoda who had led the race from pole through thick and thin, only to suffer from radio issues and communication problems meaning he missed the teams 'box now' orders to cover others following, stayed out way too long unable to see a pit board hanging out with instructions, and pitted just a few laps from the end, rejoining about 5 places down. Tsunoda fought back hard in the three or four laps remaining, getting back to second place but did not have quite enough to pass reigning FIA Formula 3 champion Robert Shwartzman who hung on for his maiden F2 win by less than a second. Zhou took third from 'Chin Jnr' and Ilott.

I think that Ticktum finishing 8th will give him the pole position for race#2. (I think the first 8 is a reverse grid situation, ie 1>8, 8>1, 2>7, 7>2 etc )

I wasn't enthralled by it, although I am hugely surprised at the difference in driving standards compared to the last time I watched the junior feeder series.

I must admit I wasnt either, and ended up watching from a distance as I made myself something to eat.... ready for the GP.

Had to laugh at Mick Schu's retirement when the bumps at turn 9 set off his fire extinguisher and covered him in foam.

Anyway, FWIW here are the race results.

Lundgaard became the fourth different winner in as many races in 2020 and Ticktum also scored his best series result, while Armstrong rounded out the podium

I have to say that sprint races in GP2/F2 are often pretty dull in my experience.

Pity for Williams after a great qualifying.

Yep the poleman went out and I gues it was a bit marginal on the rubber, cold slicks and a dampish track plus a bit of youthful enthusiasm dont always mix too well.
Looking at the replay it was contact everywhere and some good avoiding moves.
