Well, we might never get another Steiermark GP again so it deserves it's own thread.

My question is: why do what appear to be WW2 planes appear in that Renault poster?

Invasion of Austria Edit
The subjugation of Hungary opened a pathway for the Mongol Horde to invade Vienna. Using similar tactics during their campaigns in previous Eastern and Central European countries, the Mongols first launched small squadrons to attack isolated settlements in the outskirts of Vienna in an attempt to instill fear and panic among the populace.[33] In 1241 the Mongols raided Wiener Neustadt and its neighboring districts, located south of Vienna. Wiener Neustadt took the brunt of the attack and, like previous invasions, the Mongols committed horrible atrocities on the relatively unarmed populace. The Duke of Austria, Frederick II, had previously engaged the Mongols in Olomouc and in the initial stages of the Battle of Mohi. Unlike in Hungary however, Vienna under the leadership of Duke Frederick and his knights, together with their foreign allies, managed to rally quicker and annihilate the small Mongolian squadron.[34][35] After the battle, the Duke estimated that the Mongols lost over 300 to 700 men while the Europeans only lost 100. Austrian knights also subsequently defeated the Mongols at the borders of the River March in the district of Theben.[36] After the failed initial raids, the rest of the Mongols retreated after learning of the Great Khan Ögedei's death.

Those are not the colours I'd use for a Styrian GP, even the Corsairs are a bit odd. Allthough I think Red Bull has one in their collection.

Same pecking order for Qualification (bar any penalties this time). 1.Merc, 2.RedBull, 3.McLaren, 4.Ferrari, the rest...
And I would imagine less drama for the race maybe? Or do we think they will at least have the same reliabilty issues (not enough time to sort out faulty parts)?

I would't discount the Racing Point cars both qualifying ahead of the Ferraris this week. Nor the Renaults for that matter.

Mercedes have admitted that fixing the problem re their gearboxes from last weekend is 'a very complex issue'. :)

So maybe they will be less agressive (curbs and shift logic)? Handing the potential race win to RedBull?

Thats the way I read it.... :fingers: But also Red Bull had a double DNF with 'electrical issues' perhaps aalso aggravated by the kerbs. At least the 2 Mwecedes finished.

So Lando win, huh? :P

Merc will still win. Would love a Hamilton DNF though. That would certainly make things interesting.

Maybe we should have a poll / comp as to how mny laps Bernd Maylander will lead this weekend.... he led over 20% of the race last weekend, when the FIA seemed to have forgotten all about their VSC option and seemed more intent on having as many NASCAR type field compressed restarts to add to the perceived spice of the finish. :annoyed:
