Bottom post of the previous page:

It had asphalt and cobble roads. From Hooghalen till Laaghalerveen it was all cobble roads.

I build this track for rF1. I made one mistake. I had the road between Laaghalen and Laaghalerveen full tarmac.

Hmm. I thought I had already uploaded a new picture, but it seems to have disappeared.

No, don't say it! I refuse to believe that I already dream of The Fastlane Forum!! :haha:

That's an excellent guess, but not quite right! Actually, Syracuse 1928 was the only other race these three particular cars met one another at the same time. Probably doesn't help much, I know…

It's a half-mile track, not very far from Syracuse, but in a different state.

I really think I'm getting old! I was sure I'd uploaded this other picture yesterday, but it's not here anymore. Hm.

Anyway, I realize this is very difficult, so I won't stretch this much longer. It's just that I have some wonderful pictures from this event, like this one, showing future Indy-500-winner Ray Keech guest driving a Duesenberg he was about to buy/in the process of buying. Regrettably, all his prowess behind the wheel wasn't enough to avoid finishing last in this two-out-of-three match race against Ralph de Palma and Norm Batten, both Miller-mounted.

The track was in New England, more precisely in a state once crooned about by an Australian pop band.

You did upload it before - I was disappointed to see that it had later vanished as it's a great pic.

I was never a Bee Gees fan, so have no gripe with you calling them Australian!

Are they not? I didn't bother to check that, because for some reason I was sure they were from Oz!

I think they moved to Australia quite early on, but certainly weren't Australian originally. The Aussies can have them though.

One last pic: the Old Maestro, Ralph de Palma, celebrating twenty years in the sport by winning not only the match race, but also the main event - it was his seventh in a row in five weeks: four in New York, one in New Jersey, and the last two on consecutive days on this fairgrounds track in... Massachusetts, exactly.

The town is also the birthplace of a famous pugilist!

Marciano was the Rock from Brockton wasn't he?

If that's right though anyone else can take my go again because it seems a bit unfair to win by naming a track I'd never heard of!

Funnily enough the Bee Gees kinda got their big break after playing at a local dirt track in between races and getting noticed by a racing driver radio DJ.

Bee Gees were all British. They are in my top 3 favourite bands actually...
