Bottom post of the previous page:

All Motorsport in China banned until April, conveniently not affecting the F1.

I genuinely believe we're fucked regardless, so oh well.

Formula E is cancelled though. If the Chinese GP gets cancelled I'll be happy.

I suppose they'll re-instate it once they contain whatever the illness is. Looks like they're taking some really serious measures. When's the Formula E race?

I would say yes it would be cancelled, if only as a safety measure to the teams, engineers, staff, drivers, VIPs etc, let alone the risk to spectators. Its going to get worse before it gets better if you follow my drift. It probably wont be an attractive venue for any spectators to risk infection over either. I daresay there will be no Chinese GP this year, certainly not at the scheduled time of year.

I see now several International airlines have cancelled all flights into China..... without planes the GP aint going to happen.
Local cases of the virus now over 6000.... and that is just the ones they know about.
As I said before its going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

6.000 on a population of over 1 billion - but agreed, those are the cases we know about.

this dirt seems to be quite well contained outside China. Hope it stays that way.

the Chinese Grand Prix April date is set to be abandonned. Will be interesting to see where they can slot it in later in the year.

Probably somewhere in here:

06 Sep - Italy
20 Sep - Singapore
27 Sep - Sochi
11 Oct - Japan
25 Oct - USA

likely between Sochi and Japan I'd say. A triple header is supposedly also easier for races outside Europe.

another option is the following;
One avenue being explored is moving the Abu Dhabi season finale back to make room for the Chinese GP to take place in November.
Unfortunately it also means a near 1 month gap between Vietnam (April 5th) and the Netherlands (May 3rd)

The last race to be moved (cancelled in fact) from a previous confirmed calendar, was Bahrain in 2011 - due to supposed civil unrest.

As I said in the postponement thread, they cant even think of discussing or even considering alternative dates until some sort of control and treatment of Corona Virus is in place and the future prognosis is actually reducing the problem. As I have said before it will still get worse before it starts to get better. A replacement date for a Chinese GP is way down the list of priorities .... sorting the medical side and curtailing its spread is the main and only real priority currently that needs to be tackled.

it's an epidimic. These things pass. I think Trump said it will be over somewhere in April.

Trump doesnt know his arse from his elbow.

BTW it is a Pandemic not an Epidemic. An epidemic is a local occurrence when several people in a community / region are affected...... a pandemic is when it spreads / affects people around the world. There are currently more new cases confirmed in Australia daily and I am sure in the US and Europe also.
