The last endurance race of the season is this weekend with what might well be the 49th and last ever running of the very historic Sandown 500. The track will continue to be on the schedule for the immediate future but it will only be holding a normal sprint round, and with the circuit having an uncertain future (although there have been improvements to the circuit recently meaning that it will probably stay around for another few years) it may not ever have another endurance race, at least for the V8s anyway. As in previous years it is being the "retro round" of the series and many teams have got special liveries referencing older Australian touring cars and some other stuff as well.--------
There's been a couple of announcements made today regarding next season. Simona de Silvestro is going back to Europe as expected and Scott Pye is moving to partner Mark Winterbottom at the Charlie Schwerkolt team.
