Bottom post of the previous page:

The last endurance race of the season is this weekend with what might well be the 49th and last ever running of the very historic Sandown 500. The track will continue to be on the schedule for the immediate future but it will only be holding a normal sprint round, and with the circuit having an uncertain future (although there have been improvements to the circuit recently meaning that it will probably stay around for another few years) it may not ever have another endurance race, at least for the V8s anyway. As in previous years it is being the "retro round" of the series and many teams have got special liveries referencing older Australian touring cars and some other stuff as well.

There's been a couple of announcements made today regarding next season. Simona de Silvestro is going back to Europe as expected and Scott Pye is moving to partner Mark Winterbottom at the Charlie Schwerkolt team.

Love what Erebus have done to the Penrite cars with the Jim Richards / JPS tribute. Best of the retro deliveries by far.

Whincup won pole today from Heimgartner in some wet qualifying races.

Not much else to note aside from a complete fuckup by the stewards who gave dePasquale a penalty for being spun out by Van Gisbergen. To be fair they did admit responsibility but it did damage Anton's race unneccesarily further.

Jesus fucking christ, car into the marshall's area in the TOyotas. Thankfully it doesn't look like anyone has been hurt. The car smacked into a safety vehicle but the marhsalls who were in it got out.

McLaughlin's going to be starting from the back of the grid today because CAMS discovered that his qualifying engine from Bathurst was running an illegal valve lift. His Bathurst win has not been affected because the engine they ran in the race (which was different) was legal.

The 500 is underway.

Jake Kostecki smacked into Youlden and put him off track. Jake got up to 3rd momentarily which is an amazing showing for a very small team.

D'Alberto just got spun out.

And Kostecki and Caruso make contact putting Caruso into the concrete and probably out of the race.

And DJRTP dropped #17 with the fuel hose in so they'll probably get a penalty. They just need to finish that car for Scotty to wrap up the title though.
