Bottom post of the previous page:

leclerc is 6th. You think he had the fault and needs to be penalised for the lap 1 accident?

In the race of the fuckups bottas wins. It was dull. No real racing just strategy and pit works. The only hughlights were the bad start of the ferrari and the nice defense from vettel at the end. My feeling if that if mercedes did not mess up with the strategy they would have handed a 1-2

Nah. He understeered into the side of VER, it looks like the front end lost downforce behind Vettel's car.

So Mercedes win the constructors. Their sixth 1-2 championship finish in a row.

Then he was still not able to get the fastest lap. I think that ferrari would have not win this race even with a normal start.

How does that excuse him in any way? As a driver, you're supposed to account for those things.

I love how people are bashing Leclerc for this, but when I defended something similar a while back I was shot down because it was the other drivers fault for putting their car in that position.

Can't have it both ways - Max knew that could happen, Charles knew the grip would go. I call it a racing incident personally.

EDT: Lewis needs 40 points to win the championship, accounting for the 4 points for fastest lap, and that he has 9 wins to Valterri's three.

Yeah I agree, but we always got upset when the stewards penalised driver errors. It's just a bummer for Verstappen I guess and LEC received his penalty by damaging his own car.

Perez's last lap crash put paid to any last minute fastest lap attempts.... they had to slow for the yellows or lose the time had they not slowed.

I think it'd be pretty unfair to pin any blame on Max. Any other lap, a turn 2 move around the outside would indeed be a bit risky, but on lap one it's a given that cars are going to be two abreast, that's to be expected.

Had Charles had a car to his right I'd have understood a bit better and perhaps put it down to first lap shananigans, but simply under-steering into the guy on the outside is pretty poor form

It's CLAP's fault. I didn't see an onboard from him.

I assume the car understeered into Max. If so, that's racing and unfortunate. Carry on.

If he drove into him under full control, that's naughty, and deserves a penalty.
