Autosport's logical conclusion to the scenario would be that IF Vettel gets a one-race ban, Ferrari should call on Giovanazzi to replace him in that race. Which would seem rather unlikely given the fact that Kimi is still way ahead on points, experience, knows the team and I'm guessing that the 2019 Ferrari isn't night and day compared to the 2018 car that he drove last year. Granted Leclerc isn't racing for the championship, but I'd say that Kimi is a way more solid partner to have in a tight race situation than Giovanazzi is.
But sure, an Italian driver in an Italian car might be hard for the team to turn down. That, as well as the fact that Kimi's career is nearing it's end and they'd want to give their junior driver a punt, are the only reasons I can think of.
I think Vettel was always more likely to get a race ban than everybody else (him being under pressure and all that) but I think he'll be okay until Japan. He just needs to get himself sorted out. That spin in Monza was the weakest i've seen from a driver of his generation in a very long while.
Gio has not impressed much and it'd be like when Fisichella drove those two races for Ferrari. I guess if they want to just waste that race in the second car, they could go for Gio but Kimi would be a better choice if constructors points mean anything to them.

Nothing, AFAIK. They're there to score points with the younger generation, I think.
I think it was also to do with making development easier across the board..... no other category used the old 13inch (?) that F1 used with all other categories running 18s.

With Mercedes way out in front and Gasly wrecking any chance Red Bull had on a second place finish in the WCC I think Ferrari is safe in second. They're almost 100 points up on Red Bull and 150 down on Mercedes.

After acting like a spoilt brat for a solid few years, I'm not sure he has many friends anywhere. Besides, Italians are probably too busy focusing on the huge positive of a Ferrari winning at Monza than to talk about the possible hardships of their former number one driver.
