P1 was run in pretty much wet conditions although the track was drying by session end..... the first time ever a wet session has been run at the Townsville venue.
Tickford Racing's Cameron Waters led Mark Winterbottom. Waters improved late on slicks, the bulk of the 30 minutes having been run on wet tyres, to finish with a 1:21.6395s lap.
It put the Monster Mustang 1.6701 seconds ahead of IRWIN Racing's Winterbottom.
Interesting to see Michael Caruso, as reported previously standing in for Richie Stananaway at Gary Roger Boost Holden, finished the session in the top 6, by far their best session result this year.
Practice 2
Run in the dry....
Lee Holdsworth was fastest of four drivers separated by less than a tenth of a second at the top of the Supercars Championship Practice 2 timesheets at Townsville.
The Tickford Racing driver reclaimed the mantle from Scott McLaughlin with the chequered flag out in the dry, 30-minute session before they were split by Shane van Gisbergen, relegating Scott to third and David Reynolds to fourth.
