Interesting statistic @erwin greven. Max Verstappen's first season must have been the youngest average season ever?

Last year would have been pretty high - Lewis, Seb, Kimi, Grosjean, Alonso and Hulk all at 30 or above.

1950 39 years and 117 days
And the youngest average age individual GP was Russia in 2017 when the average driver age was 26y 09m 07d

In fact the top 10 youngest GP are:

1 Russia 2017 26y 09m 07d
2 Bahrain 2015 26y 09m 10d
3 Bahrain 2016 26y 09m 14d
4 Australia 2014 26y 11m 13d
5 Malaysia 2017 27y 00m 02d
6 Bahrain 2014 27y 00m 06d
7 Monaco 2014 27y 00m 19d
8 China 2014 27y 00m 20d
9 Spain 2014 27y 01m 10d
10 Malaysia 2014 27y 01m 17d

At the other end of the scale the average oldest age 10 individual GPs are:

1 Belgium 1951 42y 09m 12d
2 France 1950 41y 10m 19d
3 Belgium 1950 41y 04m 24d
4 Italy 1950 41y 02m 06d
5 Switzerland 1950 40y 09m 30d
6 Spain 1951 40y 06m 24d
7 Italy 1951 39y 10m 02d
8 Germany 1952 39y 08m 26d
9 Switzerland 1951 39y 07m 07d
10 Britain 1951 39y 06m 18d

The ten oldest surviving drivers are:

1 McALPINE Ken 98y 06m 10d
2 MARR Leslie 96y 07m 17d
3 GOLDSMITH Paul 93y 05m 29d
4 da SILVA RAMOS Hermano 93y 03m 24d
5 RHODES John 91y 07m 13d
6 HERRMANN Hans 91y 01m 08d
7 MILHOUX André 90y 03m 22d
8 BARBER John 89y 08m 02d
9 MOSS Stirling 89y 06m 14d
10 CAMPBELL-JONES John 89y 02m 10d

All of the above are all as at Bahrain 2019.

Interestingly of the youngest ever drivers, Chris Amon still features in the top ten, having made his GP debut at 19y 10m 20d when he started at the Belgium GP 1963.

Ricardo Rodriguez in still in the top 6 youngest, having made his debut at 19y 06m 27d at Italy in 1961.

Still in the top 5 is Mike Thackwell, 19y 05m 29d when he very briefly started at Canada in 1980. Of course there wasa red flag, and Thackwells wildcard entry was taken over by Jarier who had been involved in the start crash and his car to badly damaged to restart. Thackwell was at the time the youngest ever GP starter.

In their ongoing attempts at traveling to yet more countries each year, F1 is now eyeing Morocco.

So, Rich energy lost the legal dispute with Whyte bikes over the fact that Rich had blatantly ripped off Whytes logotype.

Image
William Storey, the Rich energy owner, then went on a tirade in an interview with Peter Windsor and said "Who has ever heard of Whyte bikes?"

Upon which Whyte Bikes delivered a killing blow in their Twitter feed:

Yeah, this wasn't really a case of shining more light on the story, but rather the tweets.

Christian Horner have stated that he believes that the 2021 regs should focus in increasing the influence of the drivers in the car: https://www.gptoday.net/en/news/f1/2480 ... -influence

Ferrari meanwhile have stated that the new regs should focus on eliminating the influence of the team tacticians and Binotto.

So you’re suggesting that Ferrari will use their veto on themselves? Interesting tactic
