Not right now. 2018 doesn't appeal to me as a season generally. And F1 2013 can no longer be purchased, Codies' license ran out so the game can never be sold again.

I ask because obviously over the years, bugs have been fixed, and improvements made.
Although I barely played it, I understand f1 2018 enjoy excellent reviews.

I had F12017, which was good, but not great. There were so many flaws in the game that really killed the fun factor of playing multiple seasons. Among them where your teammate not benefiting from the upgrades made to the car, it wasn't really made for a full 10 season gameplay, AI being retarded when it came to pit strategies, the fact that your car couldn't suffer mechanicals, and the pretty much non-existant crash model.

From what I've seen, none of these were rectified in F12018.

I had a quite incredible race weekend in my career mode at Monaco in F1 2012 and the driving mechanics really surprised me.

It was only a 50% race, but the conditions changed so much that we went from slicks, to inters, to wets, back to inters and then onto slicks for the final few laps. 4 pitstops!

I was very, very impressed with how a narrow dry line appeared on the wet track, while off-line it remained wet. Since I can't drive accurately enough with my controller to keep within those dry lines, I stayed out on the inters for as long as I could, using only the wet patches, while the AI went out on slicks and drove more perfect lines on the dry parts. Eventually I came in for slicks, but with only a few laps to go, there wasn't enough time to build the confidence to go fast enough and the AI caught me up massively. But still, it's Monaco, and I was leading because of my earlier strategy choices so I gave STR their first Monaco victory. On Legend difficulty. With an XBOX 360 controller. Hmmm...

I'm liking what I'm reading. Would you say the AI is competitive?

Eg. In rfactor there are places on track where they are suddenly very slow, and others in which they are too fast.

Yes....and no.

I'm in a Toro Rosso, driving on the hardest mode and I'm winning races. On the other hand, I'm only just matching or even being beaten by Ricciardo in qualifying.

Part of it is because they are pretty bad at the start. They aren't aggressive enough on the first lap and particularly the first corner, so I can go from 16th to 8th just at the start. Then after one lap they get faster again and whoever is ahead of me will disappear into the distance, while I end up with a Trulli train behind me for the rest of the race.

I think not having a wheel is part of the problem. The AI can drive smoothly and manage their pace, whereas I can only drive at 10/10ths the whole race along with making mistakes every few laps, so I burn my tyres up a little more quickly. I'm also limited a little by setup because I don't know what I'm doing with it.

I'm having a lot of fun with it though!

I did a 50% race distance (or at least tried to). Rain started falling in the latter stages. I pitted for intermediates, but it wasn't enough. Had to pit again for full wets, and as I did, I got a shove from Pedro de la Rosa sending me with great velocity into the wall at pit entry. Race over.

It is not Jurassic World. It is The Isle.

Tense moments. Was stalking a small triceratops, but was interrupted by a huge spinosaur appearing out of the lake.

Image

Moments later, another spinosaur appeared from across the lake.

Image

Just after this, they noticed me and I had to run into the woods. While running away from them, I meet a third larger carnivore, whom I also had to ran away from. Managed to stay alive until nightfall saved me. Pfew.

Epic. Fail.

Spent a few hours growing up as a Gallimimus, a very fast herbivore, today, and built the courage to try to annoy apex predators. This first T-Rex family was a gang of at least 5, 2 adult ones, that I was teasing. You can just see an orange one behind the trees to the left. That one chased me around for a bit but couldn't catch me.

Image

Then I found another family of 3 that I shouted at for a bit from the cliff abobe. T'was fun seeing them looking around from where the noise came from. Saw other dinosaurs running away from them from up there too. But soon afterwards I slipped down the cliff and died.

Socially Awkward Dinosaur.
