Williams car may not be ready for early testing
Not good news from Grove as Williams try to get over last years disaster. Their car might not be ready for the start of winter testing next week. Williams has confirmed it has abandoned plans to give its 2019 Formula 1 car a shakedown in Spain this weekend prior to testing.
Williams' 2019 car might be delayed, according to Polish media sources.
Sport.pl, which is closely tracking Robert Kubica's return to F1, claims the dead-last-in-2018 British team might need to cancel a scheduled filming day on Saturday.
The report quoted an FIA-accredited engineer as saying: "I do not have good news.
"Williams is very late with the construction of the car."

Renault also may be in trouble.... Cyril Abiteboul saying at the launch, which featured a 2018 car with a few mods, that the 2019 machine is still "in pieces". Mind you having said that, if the parts are all available and go together correctly, the actual assembly time is minimal when you look at the speed cars are re-tubbed and re-assembled overnight at GPs. They are being non committal over being ready for their planned shakedown run on Saturday in Spain. Shakedown tests are when the team use their permitted pre testing 'filming day' as a shakedown. As Merc did as Silverstone earlier today.
Of course, they could be bluffing, using the 2018 car with updated bits, and the story of bits all over the place could just be Renault doesn't want to reveal its secrets just yet. They have said they have never made so many changes from one year to the next.
Official winter testing begins in Barcelona on Monday. I guess that is when we will know who is ready with their new cars and who is not. Of course the usual story over testing is that as each day passes each team has new bits arrive and get tried. No one ever turns up at testing with the car we ultimately see at Albert Park.
