Um, really?

Why not just stop kidding themselves and call it "Strollololol".

would be funny if Stroll suddenly appears to be a challenge for Perez. Although it wouldn't be long before they'd say $troll gets the better car etc.

Brendan Hartley has been signed as a Ferrari simulator driver for 2019. So now that's all three of the major teams he'll have worked with, following his time with Red Bull and Mercedes.

Britain approves Mallya extradition

It seems the extradition of former Force India boss VJ Mallya has been approved, and short of a successful appeal he will shortly be on his bike back to India to face the music of his upaid debts, and fraudulent tax evasion and other activities, despite his attempts to avoid such a move. He has of course announced an appeal will be launched to try and reverse the extradition process, but I dont see that being successful. He has got away with it for too long already.

Equally I dont see him being forced to live a life of poverty once he returns to India. Im sure he still has a few quid stashed away in assetts hidden from the authorities.
Britain's home office has decided to send Indian fugitive and former Force India boss Vijay Mallya back to his native country.

Former billionaire Mallya, who sold his Silverstone based team to Lawrence Stroll, faces jail in India over corruption and huge unpaid debts.

A spokesperson for Britain's home office said home secretary Sajid Javid has considered the Mallya case "carefully" and "signed the order for Vijay Mallya's extradition to India".

Mallya, 63, must now be extradited within 28 days, but he has the right to appeal.

He confirmed: "I could not initiate the appeal process before a decision by the home secretary. Now I will initiate the appeal process."

For no reason, here's an image of Darth Vader with the Alfa front wing.

Yep, COTA and Mexico in trouble, with Govt. funding also denied from after this year to the Mexican GP..... the money there is now being redirected to the Mayan Train tourism project.
The highly popular new Mexican grand prix is now in doubt for the future.

Claudia Sheinbaum, the mayor of Mexico City, has announced that there will be no more government backing for the race beyond this year's event in October.

She told El Financiero, Mexico's major national business newspaper, that the F1 funding will instead go into the Mayan Train infrastructure project.

"By 2020, the federal government no longer has the resource because it is allocating most of the fund to the completion of the Mayan Train," Sheinbaum said.

"There will be formula one in 2019 because the amount has already been allocated since last year," she added.

Sheinbaum said discussions with the race promoter Ocesa are being held to find alternative funding.

"We have sat down with Ocesa to see if the amount can be lowered or if there are some other alternatives," she said.

Hopefully someone like Carlos Slim will step in to fund the race with a bit of petty cash.

Is it 'hopefully'? The races at Mexico have been dire. I'd much prefer a track like the Algarve-ring or whatever it is called.

Algarve is not going to happen.... the track is too bumpy for F1 and the Portugese are broke so wont be able to get government funding. Most likely go to Vietnam or a second race in China, which is where the manufacturers want to be, given the importance of the Chinese market to the auto industry.

At least in Mexico you have a full house of passionate Mexicans who love motor sport.
Most of the F1 races have been pretty dire with exceptions. We still watch it in hope though.

We need a race in Mexico for the sake of the poor Mexicans who will soon be trapped there by the wall.
