Bottom post of the previous page:

Absolutely laughable.
I'm sorry but I more and more get a feel that the WADA pics random single persons of sporting life to cover up for entire teams they failed, such as the latest Russian Olympic team *cough*

Arai Helmets Europe has posted a pretty good 20min documentary about the Isle of Man TT 2018 called 'Through The Visor'. Of course, it is about Arai but not in a disturbing way. Only towards the end, when the riders speak about their protection it becomes more obvious. Nontheless, a pretty good docu

Thanks for posting that. Is on my list of catch up videos to watch when I get settled back in at home again. Russian F1 is not on the list.(I just got home)

Ben and Tom Birchall are the sidecar world champions 2018

Only ten outfits made it to the final one race championship decider at Oschersleben last weekend. With just one point between Tim Reeves/Mark Wilkes and the Birchall brothers all was set for an interesting weekend. Pekka Paivarinta/Jussi Veravainen still had outsider chances, 16 points down.

The Birchall brothers set the pace from practice through both qualifyings and the warm up. Reeves/Wilkes reeled them in but couldn't quite go the pace and started the race from 2nd position behind the Birchalls. The third contenders, Paivarinta/Veravainen, only managed the fourth start position behind Streuer/Rosseau due to a mechanical in the second qualifying.
The Birchalls lead the race from the start with Reeves/Wilkes trailing them. During the 6th of 21 laps the championship took a dramatic turn when Reeves/Wilkes had to give up due to a mechanical. Meanwhile Paivarinta/Veravainen had battled past Streuer/Rosseau and inherited the 2nd position. They could get away from Streuer/Rosseau but couldn't reel in the Birchalls.

At the checkered flag the Birchalls won from Paivarinta/Veravainen and Streuer/Rosseau which turned the championship around. The Birchalls became world champions from Paivarinta/Veravainen with Reeves/Wilkes dropped down to third because of their DNF.

As posted on my Facebook Photos account 'Roadrunners Photography' or @wileephotos ;)
I've had the luck to watch Tim Reeves & Mark Wilkes race a couple times during the 2018 season. I saw them finishing the Isle of Man TT in third in both sidecar races, finishing 1st and 2nd at the Sachsenring and their unfortunate DNF at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben in the FIM Sidecar World Championship which cost them a better position than the 3rd place in the final standings.

It was great to see you race and to meet you at Oschersleben.
Here's to you. Better luck next season

Not quite sure whether someone has seen this clip yet but I thought I'd share it.
My mate reverend John Coldwell, vikar of St Ninians church, can be heard in the speech as well as the famous windows of St Ninians can be seen in it.

On Tuesday my friend the lovely and amazing Barbara Wood passed away on her beloved home, the Isle of Man. Since late August she had suffered from a leg amputation and various infections post-op. I've met Barbara all three times I've been over for TT and MGP 2017 as well as TT 2018 and most famously at Keppel Gate at each of the three Senior race days. So many lovely memories with her and her son Barry, a good mate of me, up there.

Ride in peace, Barbara
:rip:

Tonight, in about 3 hours time, the Cemetery Circuit Boxing Day races at Wanganui, NZL begin to kick off and it is possible to watch it at https://cemeterycircuit.co.nz/ but you have to sign up for a little less than 10 euros (15 NZL Dollars).
This year quite some road racing stars, including TT winner and currently fastest road racer Peter Hickman, are taking part in the Suzuki Tri-Series which concludes at the roads of Wanganui tonight.

If you don't have planned anything else, watch it ! Great racing on a rather short roads circuit !

Merry Christmas everyone, from the motorcycle racing department.

Thanks Andy, same to you. Also a big thanks to you for all the info and news throughout the year.
Also thanks to @Vassago for his additional and often more obscure stuff we might never have known.

Imagine the Last Travelling Marshal (I may describe this lads role later) in the final pic with a bit of longish white hair :haha:
However, best pic to conclude on a great, but also pretty sad, year.

Scotty Moir wins the first F1 Race,

Image

Its a busy little track.... only 1.6 km (one mile) long with eight corners, but it crams in a railway crossing, an over-bridge, blind S’s and then a trip through the middle of the old Whanganui cemetery :omg: .....
It is guaranteed to provide good racing for the single day the event runs every year.

Peter Hickman has won the Robert Holden trophy in the Open race in his first participation !
Hickman had a not so good start position and managed to follow a group with Horst Saiger. At the front Scott Moir blasted away and it looked like he'd win it. Halfway through the race, Horst Saiger managed to clinch 2nd position and defended it very well. With four to go Hickman started a blast seldom seen. From the tail end of the group he fought until he got behind Saiger. Moir in front still looked comfortable in the lead but with the start of the final lap Hickman was on a charge and the gap diminished until it all went down to a last lap, final corner do or die move in which Hickman clinched the victory followed by Scott Moir and Horst Saiger.
Great racing :)
