The one thing they always bang on about with COTA is the elevation change, and it's the one track where I don't think it works.The sharp incline to T1 shortens the braking zone even more. What we want is the same amount of change going DOWNHILL, so they're braking for twice as long.
Of course, that would need eighteen miles of sparkling tarmac run-off to pass Whiting/Tilke's safety test, but it may improve overtaking a wee bit. Although it's not been so bad in recent years. Has it? I can't remember.
