apart from the best ever trophy,

this one-off event also saw some excellent Sonic-style grid girls (probably shivering all over, lol). Are there any photos?

I remember hoping there would be a Sega F1 game that was connected with Williams out sometime in '93 (My brother had a Megadrive at the time) but one never appeared. Was there ever one in development, perhaps? I got a Commodore Amiga 1200 for Christmas '94 and bought F1 by Domark not too long after, which was the 'official' '93 F1 game, maybe there were licensing issues preventing Sega bringing a game out - or they never intended to, with Senna's Super Monaco GP 2 not long released anyway ('92 I think?)

There was a Williams F1 game on the PC in the mid-90's based on the 1993 season. It was arcady and terrible. I'm not sure if it was a Sega game and I'll try to find details.

EDIT - in fact here it is...

McLaren ran their own version of Sonic the Hedgehog on their cars, one being placed on the car each time they won a race

I wonder how the Woking trophy room looks like. It has all the original trophies there - except, I believe, the cup which Prost handed to the fans after winning the 1989 Italian Grand Prix. I'd like to visit, but I guess it is invitation-only.

I wonder if that SEGA trophy is there as well.

BTW: is the man in grey with the bowler hat the circuit owner?

You have to be a member of the Team McLaren membership programme, but it has to be the McLaren+ version which has membership fees, (C£85 p.a.) not the free email supporters club. McLaren + Membership allows you to apply for an official guided tour of the entire facilty, including their historic car collection. (Not just the display cars in the main building). I believe there is a waiting list due to its popularity, but they do them at least monthly AFAIK. You just have to be a member of the Supporters Club and keep applying until accepted.

As for the man with the grey bowler hat, yes it is indeed the late Tom Wheatcroft, at the time the Donnington owner. (Now owned by Jonathon Palmer through his Vision Motorsport Business.

thank you Everso... I might sign up for that. Deep down, I have always been a McLaren man.

and about Palmer owning the track now - can't the Palmers just sod off?
I hope the car collection (including many McLarens) isn't owned by him. The thought of visiting the facility, and the ticket income reaching his pockets gives me goosebumps.

Just curious because I don't follow current motor sports any longer, but why is Palmer so loathed by everyone, it seems?
