Marc Theis of Kirchhundem, a 17 year old German student competing in the 2002 Formula König Championship for Kern Motorsport, has died during a testing accident at the Nürburgring on the 6th May. He slid into a gravel trap, whereupon his car rolled and hit the armco head-on - he died on impact.
