Aside from Jenson Button, who rang the family prior to donating, are contacts from others including Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton and Chip Ganassi.

Some more info was on the local news tonight who interviewed Steven Hunter, his right leg was amputated just below the knee, his left half way up his thigh.
I am very sorry if you find my posts long and boring, I like to type and often go off on a tangent.

The only good news to come out of it all is that with the funding now at c£650,000 Billy will have access to the very best of prosthetics technology and rehab available. Its great to see the worldwide public support and generosity in this tragic tale.

Is it conceivable to reach £1m?

In other news, there will be no F3 Masters at Zandvoort in 2017. It will return in 2018. The reason is down to date changes at the circuit, specifically meaning the only slot available for the Masters was in the months before the F3 European Championship event and because of Euro F3's no testing policy, that Masters event cannot happen.

Thanks for the information Ian.

Poor Billy and his family, same goes for Steven Hunter and his. JHR was set up by his brother and ex-MG-F Cup racer Jamie, who died in a road accident back in the early-2000's. Jamie was extremely quick.

Autosport.com wrote:The Motor Sports Association has launched an investigation in partnership with the FIA into the British Formula 4 accident that left Billy Monger with life-changing injuries.

JHR Developments driver Monger, 17, lost both lower legs when he collided with Patrik Pasma at Donington Park in the third F4 race on April 16.

The series is backed by the FIA and an investigation into the crash is now underway.

No further details will be released until it is complete.

In a statement, the MSA said: "The Motor Sports Association is investigating the F4 British Championship incident at Donington Park that left Billy Monger with life-changing injuries.

"This investigation is ongoing with the support of the world governing body for motorsport, the FIA.

"Until this investigation is concluded, there can be no further comment regarding the specifics of the incident.

"The thoughts of all at the MSA are with Billy and his family at this difficult time, and it has been incredible to see the extraordinary outpouring of support from the motorsport community."

As a result of the crash, Monger's right leg was amputated just below his knee, while his left leg was amputated further up his thigh.

He remains in hospital in Nottingham and has had surgery each day since the crash.

Despite Monger's injuries, JHR team boss Steven Hunter says he is incredibly positive about the situation.

"He's doing really, really well - it's awe-inspiring how positive he is," Hunter told Autosport.

"He has been going for surgery every day but his attitude has been so positive and his Mum has never left his side, she's been such a pillar of strength and love."

A crowdfunding campaign set-up by Hunter and JHR driver coach Tom Ingram has so far raised £750,000 to help Monger with his rehabilitation.

"We knew we would get a good response as it really touched people's hearts because of how it came about, but not as good as that though," British Touring Car points leader Ingram told Autosport.

"When I set the target [£260,000] I thought it was a bit ambitious so to have exceeded it by that amount is mental.

"It just goes to show what everyone thinks of Billy and is testament to how well loved he is."

Autosport.com wrote:Billy Monger has expressed his gratitude for the range of support he has received since the crash that led to the amputation of both his lower legs.

The 17-year-old suffered the horrific accident at Donington Park in a British Formula 4 race earlier this month.

A fundraising page was set up by his JHR Developments team and has received more than £750,000 in donations.

Monger has undergone several operations at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham since the crash and made his first public comments in a Facebook post on Tuesday evening.

He wrote: "A huge thank you to each and every one of you!

"Your kind words have given me and my family the strength to get through this past week.

"The love and generosity of our motorsport family, fans, and everyone that has supported me is awesome and truly inspirational.

"The marshals, medics, doctors, air ambulance and extraction crews at Donington, along with all the staff at Queens Medical Centre, what can I say?

"Without you guys I wouldn't be here today! I will always thank you all for saving my life!"

"The one true hero of this tragic event has been my sister, Bonny, who gave me the will to keep fighting - a value that I will continue to hold now, and for the rest of my life."

British motorsport's governing body, the Motor Sports Association, has launched an investigation in partnership with the FIA into the accident.

So.... Ferdinand Habsburg is driving F3, I just noticed.

His dad would probably make Lance Stroll's dad look like a pauper.
