The Isle of Man TT press launch at the Villa Marina will take place coming Thursday, 23rd. It will be again streamed live on the TT's
youtube channel at
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9LDgf ... 2cwvDhF-aw

In other news Fly MAybe informed me last week that my flight to Manchester would be delayed to an 16:45 but with a 17:20 departure to the IoM this was impossible. So now I gonna fly Friday night to Manchester and Saturday morn to the IoM :)
In a bit more exciting news they were kind enough to change my Wednesday return proposal into a Sunday return, charge free too. :D
Means I`ll get to see the Senior and post-TT races at Billown, too !

OH roll on the TT!
By the way, did I mention that it is just 58 days for me to set off to the TT ? :twothumbs:

Very excited for you. If I can't make then someone who can really appreciate it should. Enjoy

Thanks guys

BTW, did I mention the funny story around attempting to call Flybe?
As I said before, I got an email stating that the flight to Manchester would be delayed last week. On Friday afternoon, I finally had some time on my hands to call them. So I dialled the number plus the 0044 for GB. But I either got the busy tone, nothing at all or that this number is not known. Saturday a couple times the same. I then started to look into router settings and provider settings but found no hint on what was going. I tried to call the telecomedians hotline but with 30min+ waiting time I hung up.

Alright, Sunday another attempt and gave up on Saturday. It drove me mad really. Meanwhile my parents came around because I was to drive together with them to the doctoral dissertation party of a cousin of mine. Told the story but we went on chatting about other things. Suddenly dad says: "Son, but you know we got a new isdn box, so we are able to do internal calls. You have to dial an additional zero if you want to do external calls !"

The remainder of changing flights is above
 :haha:

Suter withdraws from TT 2017
In a statement it says that Suter is in the process of re-organisation and wants to put its sources into the Moto2 project for the time being.

Personally, I think that they simply are too far off the pace to compete their 580cc two-stroker against the 1000cc 4T's. A bloody shame anyway as I was truly looking forward to hear and see this bike in action.

The Isle of Man TT is set to start on Saturday with practice on the Mountain course and pre-TT race practice tomorrow at the Southern 100 course at Billown. Since I depart tomorrow night for my first TT fortnight, here`s a little introduction.

The Isle of Man TT is a two week long festival of motorcycling in the middle of the Irish Sea. One week of practice follows one week of racing.
Having started in 1907 the Isle of Man TT has grown into one of the worlds last remaining challenges with its undulating 37.75 mile (~64 km) long road course, winding around houses, stone walls, trees, lampposts, climbing over a mountain and finally returning to start finish line. The lowest catagory, the 650cc Supertwins lap record currently stands at 18min 43.955secs which equates an average speed of 120.848 mph (~194 km/h) on the lap. The 1000cc record though, stands at 16min 53.929secs which equals 133.962 mph (215.591 km/h) and was set last year. It was the first sub 17min lap in the history of the TT. During a Supertwin race the course gets lapped 4 times. In the superbike races, there are two of them, the course gets lapped six times, which equates about 3 times a MotoGP race distance, including refuelling and tire changes.
Image
One of the specialities of the TT is that it isn't shown live. If you are lucky you find some Johnny Commons webcam but that's about it.
The only way to follow the action live is through Manxradio AM online and a live timing app you have to subscribe to. Manxradio AM online can be found at http://www.manxradio.com/. Just click the Listen live button on top of the page and select the AM player. Manxradio also can be reached through various radio platforms such as TuneIn Radio. The live timing app can be found at http://ttlive.iomtt.com/ and you can also launch Manxradio from there.

Hi guys,
I've arrived safe & sound. Saturday practice was called off due to mist and todays forecast doesn't look good either. Rain and more rain.
Looks like I spend my day in the paddock, taking pics

Just a short update from me.

Cheers,

Good morning guys.
Yesterday has been a bank holiday here. When I woke up it took me by surprise that the pre TT classic at Billown was already on. So I got ready and entered a bus towards Castletown. First I went to start/finish area for a program and a couple goodies. I arrived with lunchbreak just started so I took the opportunity to walk up to cross-four-ways for some pics from there. Shortly after arrival the roads got closed and the racing commenced.

You can find the sidcar race pics in my flickr gallery. Just click on the link in my sig.
In other news, it looks like practice goes ahead tonight. I'll go with the gang to either Sulby or Ballaugh bridge for spectating

Cheers
