Agreed, the next step would be the ugly multi foil F1 type arrangements that drive up costs more than the performance advantage warrants.

Finally. Put the wings on the scrapyard where they belong, together with the shark-finned F1 cars of 2008-ish.

So Vinales has his Yamaha debut, setting the fastest lap of the day.... and Lorenzo made his debut with Ducati. Viñales' time was 0.020s faster than Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi, who ran both the 2016 and 2017 M1, but whose best lap came on the 2016 bike. Lorenzo did most of the day on the current Ducati, setting 3rd fastest, before trying the 2017 bike for a few minutes at the end of the day.

Marc Márquez was fourth, switching between his 2016 and 2017 Hondas, in front of Andrea Dovizioso, who also rode two specifications of Ducati, and LCR Honda's Cal Crutchlow.

Andrea Iannone made his first appearance for Suzuki and took seventh, but to feel at home on his new mount managed a high-speed crash at Turn 10. He managed to finish ahead of Scott Redding, Héctor Barberá and Dani Pedrosa. Incidentally the top 10 covered by just 0.376s.

MotoGP Valencia Test Day 2

Vinales once again topped the timesheets at Valencia Day 2. (final day) the times haaving been topped eearlier on By Marquez. Vinales was the only rider to go sub 1:30 secs.Doviozo was 3rd for Ducati, with Iannone doing what he does best... setting quick times but destroying the machinery and surroundings, a heavy crash at T12 ending his day.(Without serious injury)
Honda’s Dani Pedrosa was fifth ahead of LCR Honda’s Cal Crutchlow and Valentino Rossi, who clocked an identical time in seventh.
Jorge Lorenzo was eighth having jumped aboard the 2017 Ducati for the first time.
The top 10 was completed by Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro and Tech 3 Yamaha’s Jonas Folger. (Zarco was next up within hundredths of Folger)
Australia’s Jack Miller suffered an off before clocking a time good enough for 12th position. Good to see KTM continued to improve with Pol Espargaro up in 17th spot.

Alex Rins, on a Suzuki, also went off at T12 into the barriers after only a handful of laps, bringing out the reds for an hour for repairs to the barriers. Rins was carried from the scene by a stretcher and transferred to hospital where he was diagnosed with two compressed vertebrae and expected to be sidelined for a month. Best wishes to him for a full and speedy recovery.

Apparently it was not a major crash but the bike landed on his hand and arm. :omg:
