Bottom post of the previous page:

Found some updates to St. Jovite to make that track look much better:

Can't get any speed at Tremblant and Laguna Seca. That's so frustrating, as I know those tracks very well. Practice practice and practice again lol :P

Started working on my GPLRank again. I can't believe how much better a driver I am now compared to ten years ago. I'm using Greger Huttu's alien setups and finding them very driveable and destroying all my old times!

Before this week, these were my GPLRank times:

Image

I've taken 2.0s off my Mosport time just now (1:20.98 now) and earlier today my 1:28.055 at Monaco was reduced to a 1:25.75. I began running out of fuel coming out of the final hairpin so lord knows how fast my lap would have been otherwise.

GPLRank is now -20.569 - send me a buddy request if you're on the site! My keyboard account is PTRACER but my wheel account is PTRACER2.

9 seconds knocked off my Ring time, c'mon! Just another 5 seconds and I'm below the 8:00 mark.

I once drove an 8:31 with a Ferrari at the Nürburgring. And never got quicker.

I still don't know the key to the Nurburgring. I think what slows you down on GPL is trying to take the corners too fast. So it's a balance between not trying too hard and not trying enough. I'm sure some of the lap I spent too long coasting when I should have been on the power or on the brakes.

I also think I'm falling out of love with the circuit...

In the meantime, I'm down to a 1:46.06 at Mexico. Just a tiny bit to go until I'm in the 1:45s. I never dreamed this would happen, I found the 1:49s an impossible target ten years ago.

The key is to be smooth at all times. Taking the right lines, not attacking it too much.

I basically didn't know this before. When the tyres are squealing, they're overheating and you're only going to corner slower.

I've just gone 1.9 seconds faster at Monza than I did before. It only took a few laps. I can't believe how much faster I am now!!!

EDIT: And 3 seconds faster at Rouen. This is mental.

I stopped playing GPL because it was bugging on my pc. It blocked while I was curving and then I found myself already upside down. Also playing with keyboard is really very difficult.

Down to a 1:26.61 at Silverstone, from a 1:30. Such a fun, amazing circuit!!!

Must have been years ago right? I spent hundreds of £££ over the years, just to get hardware that was actually compatible. It was silly.

Yes the last time i played was maybe 10 years ago. You needed expensive hardware to really enjoy that game, especially if you runned the heavvy mods.

I recently drove the Mount Panorama Circuit at Bathurst. A great circuit to drive with a nice flow.

Honestly, GPL 1955 is potentially the first mod that will pull me away from the 1967 cars.

I noticed that video was released in December. It was 11 months between the Spa67 promo video and eventual release date. I think that should give some clue that maybe by October it will be out.
