MonteCristo from Australia
I'm MonteCristo, and I'm a fleeing FMB refugee from Australia. Was there since 2002 after lurking for a while, and have the unenviable record of having the most posts, which all my fellow refugees will agree have been completely pants.
Have watched every race since I was 8 (1994), and watched a fair few before that. The 60s to early 80s were something magical in F1 (and 1991... Screw it, 1992 as well because Nige won), and it's been downhill ever since, but no one will listen to me and fix it, despite my loud internet yelling. Used to collect F1 races on VHS, and getting new races that I'd never seen before was brilliant.
Was a huge American open wheel fan, but got burnt by being on the wrong side of history (it was a draw, right? Right?!). I still get wood looking at Champ Cars from the early 90s until the DP01. The DW12 is just wrong.
Watched plenty of bike racing in my day, but the trouble now is finding the time. I still need to get my annual Le Mans fix and trying to do the full race awake, but that's about as much time as I can get.
And while you people all look strange and smell a bit funny for now, I for one welcome my new forum overloads.

I'm LOUD HOWARD, and I'm a fleeing FMB refugee from Australia, I was lured here by the (possibly entirely made up in my imagination) promise of cookies. Was there since 2003 after lurking for a while, and have a lot of posts there, I think all will agree they were generally more pants than MonteCristo's.
I've been watching F1 pretty hardcore from 1996, only missed the odd race (all in the last 2 or so years). First race I attended was Adelaide '93, the last was Melbourne '13, I support Dan and have a bit of a soft spot for RBR, but mostly am a fan of Ferrari having been a huge MS fan ( ). I enjoy seeing the old enemies McLaren and Williams struggle, the latter I have a feeling will start their slide back into mediocrity again this season. Have had the awkward feeling of starting to support Vettel over the last 12 months, which would've been unthinkable after Fuji '07, but he is quite funny and yeah he's not a bad driver!
Been trying to get into WEC, but I struggle with the race lengths and times, but appreciate what it is. Also a huge Arsenal fan, COYG! One day I'd like to follow a sport that was mostly in my time zone, that'd probably be grand. I also enjoy my sim racing, play a bit of iRacing for a month or two each year and am looking forward to getting some VR action in it, I think it will be incredible.
I'll try not to leave too much of a mess...thanks for having us though!

We will probably need MonteCristo's lunch money to fund the cookies.....LOUD HOWARD wrote:I'm LOUD HOWARD, and I'm a fleeing FMB refugee from Australia, I was lured here by the (possibly entirely made up in my imagination) promise of cookies./quote]

Welcome to you 'Loud' (and any others I have not welcomes).
As an aside I was once a Farzad member, probably 10 years ago, (same Nic as here) but I came here because I think I got sucked in by more interesting downloads in the days of Strad's much missed video contributions. I managed to rack up a few hundred posts there in a fairly short time so must have enjoyed it.

Well, there's this thing, you see...There were cookies before you joined, haha, but the er...the cookies ran out. Right before you signed up. Sorry mate!LOUD HOWARD wrote:I'm LOUD HOWARD, and I'm a fleeing FMB refugee from Australia, I was lured here by the (possibly entirely made up in my imagination) promise of cookies.
Just kidding, welcome to the forum
We're probably complete opposites as far as who we support goes...My soft spots are Williams and McLaren, Vettel and Red Bull are (were) "the enemy", and Schumacher is the only driver I'm probably less fond of than Vettel. That said, I'm so tired of the Mercedes domination I was actually rooting for a Vettel win in Melbourne which shows my loyalties change quicker than the F1 rules.

Don't you mean your loyalties change quicker than a British Chancellor changes his budget?
Carry on...

I am very sorry if you find my posts long and boring, I like to type and often go off on a tangent.

GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF MAN! *slap* But yeah, I will admit that he is pretty funny. He's a dick on the track though, but not as bad as Chin.LOUD HOWARD wrote:Have had the awkward feeling of starting to support Vettel over the last 12 months, which would've been unthinkable after Fuji '07, but he is quite funny and yeah he's not a bad driver!
