Bottom post of the previous page:

Excellent, although I was looking more for overhead shots that show the whole track layout. Great pictures though, keep them coming!

Well then you should have asked for satellite photos, not just aerial shots. A huge thanks to everyone else too.

Brooklands in the 1940s. Already much of the Railway Straight has been destroyed, as has some of the track at the fork:

Road Atlanta in 1978 before they put a chicane in on the back straight:
Image

Augusta before they built on it. All of this is now gone :sorrow:

And in 1988 when it was a racetrack, but pre-chicane:

I'll re-find the images here that were here previously and reupload them at some point.

For now, here's a hi-res aerial of Albert Park from around 1945 which I found in the University of Melbourne's map collection:

It just proves all the track maps that have been drawn of the old Melbourne circuit have been a little inaccurate

The Interlagos shot is really cool, it was only a year or two after they built the new circuit so the old bits are all still visible. Great stuff!

Very interesting evolution of Trenton Speedway here! First starting off in 1931 with a small dirt oval, which a bigger oval was then built on by 1947. Then the big oval was extended to the famous version used in CART in the 1970s with the right hand kink on the back straight and finally by 1995 it's a housing estate. Corporate America at it's absolute finest.

This is a layout view of Assen, which changes since 1952 can be seen. Between 1926 and 1952 there have been mainly changes in track width.
I added this picture in the lastest versions of the TT Assen for rFactor.

Looking at what they put there, I don't even get why they demolished those first corners! I look forward to driving your long version of the course (I presume you're still making the 1955 layout? )
