Nice girl, for sure, but the thing about Vivaldi, his music is all wrong. I've listened to this so many times, desperately trying to figure out which Continent he was on, when he wrote this. The whole thing is a baroque scam, them seasons just don't fit. Because Vivaldi was a hack.
This is autumn leaves' decay, grey clouds accumulating above, skulls grinning at you from every face you see, slushing through the rot of humanity, dragging on endlessly, weakly, mindlessly, towards the Great Dissolution. In less than 10 minutes Chopin artistically condensed the entire Fate of Mankind. His love of Nature and the good within the abstract idea of Mansoul is briefly shown in the coda.

Even more bizarre when performed on a church organ. If there is a fairground in Hell, this is the sound you will hear constantly playing.

A modern master of classical music. His Labyrinths would suit a Kafka novel or similar, creepy and bizarrely unreal.

Thanks, one can never get enough of that.
Here's something that doesn't end up on too many classical music cd compilations:
The Moon does have strange powers, undeniably so. Wait, what is this hair on my arms, aargh... my mouf is full of teef...gahh...grrr...

Astoundingly brilliant. This to me does not convey an atmosphere of the idyllic nature tableau, I think it's creepy as hell. There is a certain madness lurking there, just beneath the surface. Reminds me of the later eerie stuff by Grieg.Antonov wrote:

I believe ELP deliberately excluded this bit from their live album version. Few other shorter bits were also dropped. Strange, really, as it's supposed to be a themeless collection of symphonic poems.

I don't believe there's a greater single piece in the history of Danish classical music than this.
