SVG opened a bit of a gap now from Waters and Mostert, Heimagartner 4th from Whincup Percat Courtney Pye Slade and Davison with 6 laps to go.

Mostert tipped Waters into a spin at T1 but immediately redressed it , which let SVG go clear and the pack behind to close up.

SVG wins to go unbeaten this year from Waters and Whincup who took P3. Mostert 4th, Heimgartner 5th with Percat, Courtney, Pye, Slade, and Davison completing the top 10

One race to go this weekend, in just over an hour from now.(4:30 local time)

Its just started raining again where I am, 15 mins down the road from Sandown.

Final race of the weekend a few minutes away.... rain has come back and looks set to stay or he race. SVG on pole..... can he go 5 from 5 (wins from starts) this year, his best ever run of wins. (Actually it is 6 from 6 if you include last year's final race at Baathurst.

So probably not much strategy other than when to change how many wets for new wets (minimum 2, either one axle or one side) but change 3 or 4 is also possible. Only two rattle guns though so three or four tyres changed in effect doubles the stop time from a quick two tyre stop..

You would imagine there will be SC involvement giving the tricky conditions.

36 laps race or 58 minutes plus a lap and the warmup lap is underway.

Clean start and SVG takes the lad from Whincup Reynols and Davison. James Courtney got turned later in the lap but that seemed to be the only. casualty.

Reynolds up to 2nd and Davo goes bush.
Will Brown is up 11 places in 3 laps.

Kostecki passes Whincup for 3rd in the #99 Erebus car.
Waters and Mostert who qualified badly for this race are 9th and 13th respectively.

As usual Smith i a tool.... whatever he did he haas been given 15 seconds for a driving infringement. He has had his usual nightmare weekend.
