Interesting fact, This was only the second time the All-Star race was held away from Charlotte, the other time was in 1986, where Chase's father Bill won at Atlanta.

Cockpit temperatures apparently reached 144 degrees Fahrenheit during the Texas race. That's a far cry from the reported near 200 degrees during the Busch series race at Gateway in 1997.

They regularly talk of 60+C in Australian V8SC races which is the same sort of temperatures. 50C is I think the norm.
