Interesting fact, This was only the second time the All-Star race was held away from Charlotte, the other time was in 1986, where Chase's father Bill won at Atlanta.

Cockpit temperatures apparently reached 144 degrees Fahrenheit during the Texas race. That's a far cry from the reported near 200 degrees during the Busch series race at Gateway in 1997.

They regularly talk of 60+C in Australian V8SC races which is the same sort of temperatures. 50C is I think the norm. They all wear coolsuits here under their fireproof suit to keep body temps lower.

Legendary engine builder Maurice Petty passed away today. Had a hand in 212 victories, 200 of them with his brother Richard.

There's some other series using electrics off-road I think? Extreme E is the same. Too much new stuff to dilute interest I reckon.
