so, it is a battle between these 4 for the NASCAR World Championship of 2018:
- Martin Truex Jr
- Joey Logano
- Kyle Busch
- Kevin Harvick

race is scheduled to take place in Homestead-Miami at 2:30 ET (which is an agreeable 8:30pm for the Europeans, and 7:30pm for the Brits).

Hopefully Busch or Harvick can win and allow Truex to take out Logano like he promised, FIGHT!

Technically I could attend the final.

We have flights to MIA on Saturday, returning on Tuesday (arrival Wednesday) which go for € 300 return ticket.

Is it worth though, so short?

so, who is your favourite for the title. You ask me? I'd say Harvick. I want him to win because he's been around for ages.

I know the fans' favourite is probably Logano, but not mine really. A victory for Kyle Busch would also be extremely popular.

Any reason as to why the final is at Homestead? Is it considered such a classic?

Because Homestead paid zillions of $$$$ to host it, is owned by ICS (a France family business) and they didn't want the finale being at Las Vegas which was the only other track bidding for it and a track owned by NASCARs bitter rival Brunton Smith of SMI.

The political infighting of NASCAR/ICS/SMI is often far more entertaining than the on track product is, basically every track bar Pocono, Darlington and Dover is owned by either SMI or ICS and locked into multi year contracts for hosting races either because they are backend owned by the France family, or Smith who sued NASCAR to hold his races.

It would be the equivalent of Liberty building their own tracks, then buying up all the existing tracks to then transfer the races to their own tracks, that's essentially what happened with SMI and ICS who built their own cookie cutters then bought up places like North Wilkes and transferred their dates to their new shiny shitholes.

why so many series have very average endings to the season?

F1: Abu Dhabi
MotoGP: Valencia
Indycar: Sonoma
NASCAR: Homestead

In that company, Sonoma isn't that useless of a circuit, actually.

So the guy who had less then half as many wins or top 5s as two of his other rivals wins the title.

2018 NASCAR, everybody.

If you see the full season, you would say Harvick or Kyle Busch with 10 and 8 victories, Logano with only a late victory in the chase was enough to be the champion this year, are you gonna say it is fair or deserved?
