HC Racing IndyCar Manager 2008

Welcome

Well, here it is, the IndyCar Series 2008 Manager. It will be run under the HC Racing banner, which I've in the past used for my weblog. The Champ Car World Series has now closed down and several teams/events have joined the IndyCar ranks. This only happened a couple of weeks before the season start, meaning I was not able to create this game any earlier. But what a season we have in store. Some of the most fantastic tracks are on the calendar and there's a bunch of cars ready to go racing at Miami. The rules will now be explained.

The Rules

In the IndyCar Manager game you have to choose eight drivers. The drivers can be picked from seven groups of three drivers and one of four drivers, this means you can't choose two drivers that are in the same group. You will score the same amount as points as your drivers get. The points system is the same as in the IRL.

Code: Select all

Place Points
1st 50
2nd 40
3rd 35
4th 32
5th 30
6th 28
7th 26
8th 24
9th 22
10th 20
11th 19
12th 18
13th 17
14th 16
15th 15
16th 14
17th 13
18th 12
19th 12
20th 12
21st 12
22nd 12
23rd 12
24th 12
25th 10
26th 10
27th 10
28th 10
29th 10
30th 10
31st 10
32nd 10
33rd 10

Three points are awarded to the driver who leads the most laps in each race.
We've chosen to use the 25 drivers on the entry list of the first race that are running the entire season. If more join later in the season they will NOT be added to the game. Also at this moment the Edmonton event still needs a date on the calendar. Two events which will not count towards OUR manager game are Surfers Paradise (non points race) and Long Beach (will be run with old DP01's).

At the end of the year the member with the most points will win the game. When your driver is injured, or has another reason he can't drive, the reserve driver will score points for you. Entries are open to everyone, if you want to join just post your drivers in this thread.

Bonus Points

In two races you can double your points, if you for example get 40 points it will be doubled to 80. Good luck on choosing your two events.

I would, but I just have so many other things to do other than watch motor sport.

I know F1 isn't the greatest of all the series out there, I don't even know why I follow it. I don't enjoy the races, I dislike some of the drivers, I hate the principles of the sport...

Maybe I'll try and watch IRL this year. When is the first race?

Which explains why you picked AJ Foyt IV
