Good luck to him.

A bit interesting to see a couple of former full time drivers who were dumped both come back full time in the same season though.

I really like it. Has potential to be a modern day classic livery, IMO.

Meanwhile Rick Ware is a thing...
Full-season IndyCar partnership for Coyne and Rick Ware Racing

Dale Coyne Racing will welcome Rick Ware Racing to its latest co-entry partnership in the NTT IndyCar Series. RWR, a staple in stock car racing, steps into the empty co-entrant position filled by Team Goh in 2020 with former driver Alex Palou. DCR and RWR will campaign the No. 51 Honda on a full-time basis, and an additional car, the No. 52 Honda, as a part-time effort.

Driver confirmations are due next week, according to the team, with ex-Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean and Ware’s son Cody, the 2019 Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 Am class champion, expected to be among those confirmed in some capacity.

So it looks like we are gaining an extra part time entry. Hopefully they run a few.

This is really disappointing. Jones did nothing in the Ganassi #10 a few seasons ago, but money talks. Coyne needed some coin.

There won't be any shortages of cautions with Cody Ware behind the wheel of an IndyCar. He had a few strong runs on road courses in NASCAR Xfinity, but he's been known to pull a lot of stupid moves behind the wheel.

Does IndyCar have some sort of super license system, other than actually handing points out? I guess they don't since both Binder and Dalton Kellett has occupied race seats in the past couple of years.

Apparently they do: https://www.autoweek.com/racing/indycar ... ng-system/

But it's a vague guideline.

I imagine that Kellet would qualify via the equivalent of grinding through an RPG and being in Lights for half a decade.

Yeah first look I saw Scott at the bottom of the list and felt an OMG moment, but then seeing the other Penske's down there, and less than a tenth covering the last 4......

Insane they are all within 0.7 or so.

I think it might also be his first time on the track (previous tests were at COTA and Indy I think?).

Also worth noting that Askew was in an Andretti car.

I can't say that I was "impressed" by him last year, but he wasn't awful. And unless you're an awful rookie, you deserve a second season.

Hopefully something's happening there.

Askew might possibly run a partial schedule for Andretti? Definitely interesting. Maybe they have more sponsorship than what has been announced.

He was in the car because Hinch was somewhere (stuck in Canadada?), but good to see Askew motivated to bounce back.
