IndyCar's manufacturer war tightening up
Got to say that I disagree with Marshall Pruett on this one.

McLaren moving over to Chevy would be fine if Askew wasn't a total rookie and probably not all that great (watch me get proven wrong now), and O'Ward is talented but also essentially a rookie.

Ed Carpenter Racing? It's the same old Ed Carpenter, and Conor Daly isn't going to have much momentum behind him with the team. Rinus VeeKay is another rookie, and hard to judge but he's not going to set the world alight, surely.

A.J. Foyt Racing? That's a lol. Seabass is a fine driver, but only getting old (see last year). Kimball isn't useless, but he's not too far off it. Kanaan is useless.

Carlin Racing is struggling. Daly will struggle as a result.

DragonSpeed may or may not turn up, same with Dreyer & Reinbold.

Chevy (=Ilmor = Penske) don't really care as long as Penske delivers the goods.

Anyway,

Plenty of smoke at the moment, so there has to be a fire somewhere.

Still sounds very familiar....and I'm still waitin' on that red Dallara bargaining tool, also, to stir the pot.
My anticipation is oh-so mounting...... :omg: .....at about the same speed as Carly's Heinz.

As in 35 years ago, we'll hafta' wait and see.....or not..... :whistling:

Sure ain't bankin' on it (engines? Yeah, sure; but twelves? No way, so what would be the excitement? 'Love to eat my words on that one.).
Matter of fact, who's taking the bets.....? If mandated Dallara/spec/kit chassis remain, I'm in for non-entry from the Scuderia for a hunnerd'.......
Those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end.....

Smoke? What smoke??? I just see two sticks rubbed together, with little vigor. At least, 35 years ago, they produced a real "threat", the 671.

Where's the red Dallara? like I said, engine supplier? I'd buy. Team entry with spec car? Uh-uhh.

You're just going to let Zach Veach get a free pass here? Nah, I can't accept that.

I wouldn't go that far, but it sure ain't the most exciting.
More important then "looks" from sponsors' POV, it will serve it's purpose well, being very "visible" and "memorable", which is what advertising is about. That's why they're there, exposure.

Examples: Some TV ads are entertaining, but so much so, one doesn't even remember who/what it was for, distracted by the fun.....oooopppsss.
Others terrible, but one never forgets who/what it was for.....'just the result desired.

Like the Reese's "Not sorry" ads. Most people I know find it annoying, but they remember who and what it is. 'Planted in the subconscious, the goal....

Their words....
"We know it’s really easy to make people want a Reese’s… you can basically show someone a cup and boom, they’ll crave a peanut butter cup (this is fact). So we launched with a new tagline and mantra: “Not Sorry.” An self-aware, acknowledgement that we’re not sorry that we’re about to make you want a Reese’s. We’re not sorry we know exactly what we’re doing. We’re not sorry we’re better than any other candy… We doubled down on this new attitude, partnering with Will Arnett as our voice of the brand. An unapologetic, persuasive, devil-on-your-shoulder not-so-subtly pushing you to stop doing whatever you’re doing and go get a Reese’s."
Those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end.....
