Latest post of the previous page:

Quite an interesting race but the Kawa still seems to have some extra legs towards the end of the race but Mikkey van der Mark looked quite good so there's hope for tomorrow

Yeah was hoping for a first WSBK win for MvdM on his home turf but sadly although he led for a while and was super quick on the last sector he just didnt have the full lap pace. But he did well and 2nd is better than 3rd. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Camiers return from injury did not last long, and his replacement lasted even less time! Stand-in, Aussie Jason O’Halloran has broken his right ankle after crashing during Race 1 of the Imola round of the Superbike World Championship.

O’Halloran was only called up for Free Practice 3 on Friday after the injury comeback of Leon Camier, who broke three ribs at Aragon last month, was called off. O'Halloran has been diagnosed with 2 fractures in his ankle, where the foot peg went through his boot. :omg:

Great first WSBK win for Holland and Michael Van Dee Mark at Donninton
Yamaha's first win since 2011.

Behind VdM it was the usual Kwaka benefit, although Sykes made Rea fight for his second place.
The two green meanies took off at the start and had a great fight, but VdM came through from 6th on the grid to outgun them as they squabbled amongst themselves, and pulled a gap in the final laps.
Rea not winning put off his plan to take the record wins tally of 59 currently held by Fogarty. Have to wait till later on today for another chance on that record.
Sykes had set a World Superbike record of his own earlier on Saturday by claiming his 44th pole.
Chaz Davies finished a disappointing eighth.

The Kawasaki dominance is killing all the fun in WSBK and I thought the Bayliss years were bad. Wake me up before there's some real competition here.

I see that Ana Carrasco is on course to dominate the SSP300? :haha:

Wow, what a great 2nd WSBK race from Donnington.
Lowes led for much of the race before Rea caught and passed him after a few position changes, and as rain drops started to fall Lowes dropped away as Van der Mark took up the chase of Rea. The rain didnt happen and VdM picked up his pace and passed Rea a few laps from the end and pulled away to win by a few seconds. To make matters worse for Rea was Razgatlioglu closing in and taking Rea for a fine 2nd place in the last lap.

So a double win for VdM after his first win yesterday, and Rea has to move on to the next round to get his record 60th win.

Sorry, but I didn't make it this time since I was at the Sachsenring Classic/Sidecar World Championship the weekend and by the time 2nd race started I was about crashing from a stressful but also very lovely weekend.

How did the racing go anyway?

It was a Rea benefit, with him taking the double, but there were a few dices. He had to pass a few to get there and passing doesnt look too easy tat Laguna. Not the best weekend I have seen but better than a poke in the eye as they say. I always enjoy bikes at Laguna.

Markus Reiterberger became the final Superstock 1000 champion at Magny-Cours yesterday after it was announced that the series will be canned from 2019 after 19 years of running. He was close to throw it away though but ultimately secured 3rd place and the title.

In World Supersport 300 Ana Carrasco became the first female rider to win a singles road racing championship by one point after a cracking race and a bonkers final lap. Early leader and best bet for the championship Scott Deroue had a mechanical halfway through which left Mike Perez the big chance of the title if he would finish one or two. Ana Carrasco had problems all weekend long and started from 25th only. Her progress looked like coming to a halt midway when she was stuck in 19th position but a couple dnf's in front of her made life a bit easier. Still she would have had to finish in tenth position, given that Perez finished either one or two. With the final starting, Ana was up to 13th but far away from the 10th place target but Perez needed to win now. In what was a bonkers final lap, with position changes all around, Mike Perez lost out in the battle for 1st while Ana Carrasco made another position on the run towards the finish line for 12th and championship securing position, by one single point. For almost 3/4th of the following lap back in she seemingly thought that she lost it until someone pointed it out her.

In the world supersport 600 race, which was concurrently run with the European Supersport Championship, Dutchman Rob Hartog secured the ESS title.

In WSB, Johnny Rea won both races and became the most successfull wsb rider by victories and championships from Carl Fogarty.
