Hi guys,
following my return from the Isle of Man on Sunday, 3rd I went off to this years Technorama in Hildesheim again. The Technorama is an oldtimer fair for both cars and bikes with a huge market of memorabilia and old vehicle spares. Also there are regularity races held on the airfield for both cars and motorcycles. I took the chance to meet my friends Jan & Rommy de Vries as well as Aalt & Adrie Toersen again and spent a great weekend with them. To see these boys, well in their 70s, and still racing on their iconic bikes (and being fed up when a run was redflagged and not restarted due to time restrictions) is really good, if not great, stuff.
Yep, I've missed out on (partly) MotoGP, BSB and Goodwood but had another great weekend otherwise. Frohburg in two weeks will be my end of season and I`m really looking forward to it as I know that some mates will come over from England as well as meeting my mate Shaun Anderson there again, who comes up from Austria to race there.
Well, here are a couple impressions of last weekend
#2 Aalt Toersen on his 50cc Jamathi during the wet practice on Friday
Still Friday practice but bikes from 350 to 750cc. Honda CB 400 here
Suzuki RGB 500, same class
#1 Jan de Vries, 50cc van Veen Kreidler. Jan told me that this very bike, with its 12 (!) gears, was clocked once with 204 km/h top speed at old Spa-Francorchamps in the early 70s
#34 Jan Bakker on the 125cc Yamaha 3 V3
A bit of sidecar fun out of T1

I posted a highlights clip in the vids section HERE of the Barry Sheene Memorial Race at Goodwood.
Love those weekends like the Technorama, although they are fairly scarce out here. Looks like you did not get the best of the weather (like Goodwood) but clearly a great enjoyable weekend..... look forward to perving at your pics! Love the sidecar one, and the RGB500 looks sweet.

Well it was liquid sunshine till Saturday late morning. It would rain Saturday night but it was dry till Sunday evening again.
I need to up a couple more pics though. Completely unfinished business
Well, my main focus was on the chairs and Golden Classics but I got a couple of the other classes, too.
We had the 50/125cc Golden Classics, bikes till 350cc, bikes till 750cc, bikes over 750cc and the sidecars. There were some car classes too but I took the 4 wheelers as an excuse for coffee breaks

How the hell can you get a 50cc bike to do 204 km/h? Amazing.

OK , completing my Technorama impressions with this post. Some lovely bikes, some coffee break excuses. Another great weekend in the books. Every week on one day I just take a 5min break from everything and am just thankful for all these wonderful things I'm witnessing. Enjoy them photographs, more of them, as usual, in my public roadrunners facebook account.
Aalt Toersens Jamathi in the paddock
Rommy de Vries, Adrie & Aalt Toersen watching classics entering the car park.
Fup Bakker and Jan de Vries. Fup was really in pain following his highsider during Saturdays heat 2 and a night in hospital.
The Golden Classic riders and their lovely 'Catering Crew'
One of my two favourite bikes that weekend, in the dry finally
The other one
Sidecar nutters take 2
If you look closely, you can see sparks coming off the passengers shoulder protector pads
Some four-wheelers were there, too
Another lovely bike
Even the Manx flag was waving high above the paddock Talk about sending me a sign
