New thread for announcements of fatalities in motorcycle racing. Please do me a favour and keep the announcements here rather than in the respective series thread.

During the Mountain Thunder Easter Saturday street races in New Zealand Ruaraidh McLeod, 25, from Christchurch was critically injured following a crash and died at the scene.

Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Rest in peace, Ruaraidh

You are welcome, Kals.
I'd have made the thread sticky too but somehow this option is missing from my mods control panel.

Hopefully a thread that we do not need to update very often.

It is with great regret to announce the passing of Dario Cecconi, 38, from Italy who had a spill during the last lap of the Senior Support race at the Tandragee 100 road races last weekend. Dario was announced as critically ill shortly after the incident and passed away last night. He had a special relationship to the Country Antrim course and came up with his van every year since 2012. The road racing family loses one of its big supporters.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Rest in peace, Dario

It is with great regret to announce the passing of Nicholas Patrick 'Nicky' Hayden, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a road traffic collision on his bicycle near Circuit Misano on May, 17th.

Nicky became MotoGP world champion in 2006 and rode for Honda alongside Stefan Bradl in the superbike world championship this year.

Rest in peace #69, Nicky Hayden

RIP Nicky :(

Valencia 2006 is how I'll remember Nicky. As a steadfast Rossi fan I have to admit seeing him and his father post race was one of the happiest images in motorsport, similar to Jenson and John Button at Interlagos in 2009.

Ride fast #69 we'll miss you :flag:
