Latest post of the previous page:

Yeah, lucky the start was delayed otherwise I would have missed that part anyway. (Good timing as it was still finished by F1 qualy thanks to a red flag stopping the race a few laps short.)

Good to see a Ducati win on home soil. (Chad managed to stay on board for the final lap.)

I`m just glad that Eugene Laverty escaped that shunt there rather uninjured. It could have been far worse if he didn't manage to jump off.

WSS race start delayed due to Caricasulos bike giving up on the warm up lap and probably having lost fluids.

Dorna gets too red flag happy for my taste. 2 laps in , a light crash in final chicane and we have another red flag.

To complete the farce we have got another red flag and the race postponed until after the WSB race.
The already to 11 laps reduced race will now be reduced further and its end portion squeezed in between WSB and the ss300 race

Agree with you Andy. He managed to jump off at the right moment. Glad he's fine. The bike on the other hand, jeeez.

Ooof. That last lap. Right over the back of his back/neck... Nasty, and oh so lucky.

Yeah it was a real race of attrition. Quite a race though, and hopefully no serious injuries. I was hoping for a new winner but he managed to fall in a weird crash, and then the three leaders all falling off on the last lap, one remounting to finish on the podium! (Names not mentioned for spoiler reasons)

WSBK Race 1 from the Lausitzring about to start now.... Tom Sykes set pole position with a new WorldSBK Lausitzring record lap of 1’36.121. Kawasaki Teammate Jonathan Rea and Milwaukee Aprilia rider Lorenzo Savadori fill the front row. The pole lap was nearly two seconds quicker than the record set last year. :omg:

Sounds good
Thanks for the updates, Chris.
Unfortunately, I was unable to watch race 1 and only caught the final few laps of race 2 up in the MGP paddock

It has made a dent to his slim title hopes, with a double DNS after that crash in practice.. He has now had surgery and hopes to be fit in time for the next race. As well as burns to his arm he suffered a cracked dislocated finger and a fractured wrist.
“We undertook surgery which consisted of the osteosynthesis on the fifth finger of the left hand, where a plate was placed,” explained Dr Font.
“Tom will stay in for 24 hours for post-surgery observation and medical treatment; and during the next week a new check-up will be performed.
“Also with a scan we have confirmed that Tom had a fissure in the fourth finger of the left hand and in the left wrist.
“The recovery period depends on the rider and in the best case scenario he can return to competition soon.”
Sykes’ own assessment suggests that he could return for the next round at France’s Magny-Cours on September 29-October 1.
“I have had an operation and the doctor seems to be happy with how it went,” he said.
“Obviously it was a nasty break and basically snapped the little finger clean in half, so it was more than a dislocation and he found a couple of other things in the hand as well; – a crack in the finger next to it and a crack on the radius on the wrist.
“I have had that injury before and raced with it four days later in Australia (in 2013, his championship winning season), so I have been able to race with a broken wrist before.
“We will see what happens from now on, and see how the fingers get on in the next few days.”
Sykes title chances took an almost unattainable challenge with Jonathan Rea taking a full points double victory at Portimao. Rea needs just a second place finish in the Magny Cours opener to make World Superbike history with a third consecutive title.

Sykes kept his second place as Chas Davies again crashed out of race 2 in the closing laps. Rossi's Yamaha MotoGP replacementt Michael Van Der Mark took 2nd in the final race.

WSB quali at Magny-Cours is on now. I just try to figure out when Eurosport Player starts BSB coverage from Assen today.
As I was off to the final IRRC round at Frohburg last weekend I`ve missed out on bits here and there and if it wasn't for another on call weekend I`d been off to Assen yesterday past work.

Whatever Mercado & Giugliano made it into q2

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's a first time for WSBK.
