Bottom post of the previous page:

First round is very soon. News from testing is that the new Honda is apparently difficult (heard that at the start of the season before...), Ducati are playing with aero again and tested a stupid new fairing, Lorenzo is struggling to adapt to his new mount, Rossi isn't entirely comfortable on the new Yamaha and KTM are propping up the timesheets.

Dovi was quick at the final test, which is hardly surprising considering he and Ducati always go well at Losail.

Honda have started dabbling with new aero fairings as well. It's not as bad as Ducati though, theirs look more and more like a hammerhead shark.

This starts putting me off. Soon we will be hearing that tires are ruined in the slipstream with the result of even more silly & odd aero. If the DORNA allows this route I`m off

Onboard aero isn't anything new, but this is something else entirely and I'm unimpressed.

Didn't they ban this shit last season? Or is this some sort of work-around?

I think they banned fins. The aero type, not the Nordic ones.

It's, for what it's worth, not as dreadful as the winglets though.

You sure about that? I don't see Mika Kallio's name on any MotoGP entry this season

Hi, fellas! :) True confessions time...

For decades, I've not liked motorcycle racing. It always seemed so sedate and boring compared to car racing. I base this on seeing moto events at Mosport from the early to mid-1960's. Bikes? BLAH! :(

Lately, however, I've had a change of heart. I saw on TV most of the events of the 2015 MotoGP season and was quite impressed. Moto3, too. This coverage was courtesy of the FOX SR1 channel from my cable TV provider. FOX was scheduled to broadcast the 2016 season but instead, substituted NHRA drag racing. BOOO!!! Now don't get me wrong. I like the drags. Went to one once at Deseronto back in '65 and quite enjoyed it. Top gun was a rail cutting, as best I recall, a 8.7s @ 180-odd mph. Haven't seen one since. They've up-gunned their performance envelope a bit since then. :)

So... What's on my plate? Believing again that FOX will forsake the motos for 2017, I've gone out and recently purchased an andriod TV box. With it, I'm hoping to catch live stream feeds of the motos. Trouble is, I'm a complete newb with 'Andy' and am having some difficulty navigating to apps that would broadcast moto feeds. Others, too, like OZ V-8's, WEC, BTCC, WRC, etc.

Does anyone know the ins and outs of using an android TV box to obtain the live feeds? RSVP and I'll be forever grateful.

Believe it or not Manfred. I bumped into a guy who used to marshal at Mosport in the 60s and 70s but who moved west and lives somewhere in Alberta these days. He must be around your age and I got him to use many of those streams and sites without the danger of infecting his pc. Much like you, he picked up on bike racing pretty late in his life. I got him to ;)

In an interesting turn of events said guy went on to buy into the official wsb and motogp live streaming

Not only am I interested to see how Vinales performs against Marquez, I am interested in who will come out on top of the Folger and Zarco battle (who will ultimately replace Rossi).

FP1 done and Vinales is 0.6 up on the rest of the field.

Reaction: :jaw:

Karel Abraham crashed out. As did Jack Miller. Nothing too unexpected there.
