50th Macao Motorcycle Grand Prix
With just a couple hours to the practice here's the thread to the final international road race of 2016. Amongst the favourites are the Bathams BMW boys with Michael Rutter, Peter Hickman and Stuart Easton. Also in the favourites circle is Ian Hutchinson on a Tyco BMW and the Penz13 BMW boys Gary Johnson and Danny Webb. Personally, I`m eager to see how IRRC Supersport champion Marek Cerveny and IRRC Superbike runner up Didier Grams will. Kawasaki mounted Horst Saiger will surely mix it up again, too. Here's for a safe meeting.
Like in previous years there is just the live audi stream which yet has to be announced at the circuit/event website http://www.macau.grandprix.gov.mo/cogpm ... hp?lang=en. Podcasts of the sessions are usually uploaded closely after the session finishes. I heard that BT Sport will show the GP live Saturday morning, so streams should become available by then.
Here's the circuit Schedule: (all times local, GMT +8; +7 for Central Europe)

As far as I am aware the FIA stream just shows the F3 and GT Cup sessions, which is why I haven't posted it above.erwin greven wrote:Also stream: http://www.fia.com/macau-grand-prix-live-stream

Partly. The top runners are on superbikes but down the order you can find superstockers, too. Some find themselves quicker on the stocker but it is also a question of machinery available. Not everyone can afford a full blown superbike.Cheeveer wrote:are these superstocks they are on racing on?

I`d love to save the audiofiles of the motorcycle sessions at http://www.macau.grandprix.gov.mo/gp/62 ... hp?lang=en for my personal archive but somehow the website doesn't allow to download (save under). Instead it wants me to open the file with a player?
Is it possible to rip ?
Cheers

Todays Results. Michael Rutter was really on it. Must be the umpteen spring for him, a top bloke. Chatted with him over a beer at Frohburg.

A couple pics first
Martin Jessopp
Pole position for Martin Jessop from Michael Rutter and Glen Irwin on his debut. Horst Saiger highsided but managed to return to pits for changing a broken footrest. He then managed a honourable 6th place on the wounded Kawasaki. After the sessions he had to go to hospital for a check up but has been declared fit to race.

With all his skill and successes in road and track racing, I still find it hard to believe that Michael Rutter doesn't have a BSB Championship to his name and also can't get over how he lost the 2005 Championship in the manner he did.

How did he lose the 2005 championship? I didn't follow BSB close back then.

The 2005 season was a three way tussle between Rutter and Ryo Kiyo on the HM Plant Hondas and Gregorio Lavilla on the Airwaves Ducati. Rio won the first two double headers but then got injured at Mallory, which resulted in him missing a few races. Lavilla was only supposed to stand-in for James Hayden, who'd been injured in a pre-season test but ended up as a permanent replacement due to his immediate success. By the Knockhill round mid-season Rutter had an enormous lead (roughly 3 wins worth of points) thanks to a few wins and lots of consistency, no retirements, plus Rio's injury. But then during the last 3rd of the season his results disappeared off the face of the earth, it was inexplicable.

I see. Thanks for the explanation.
Perhaps Michael is a bit 'too' nice. Not sure. But then he races a lot different series/races but on similar machinery, very similar to Jeremy McWilliams
