This season's BSB looks very interesting. Some points to note:

- PBM has switched from Kawasaki going back to Ducati, for whom they had great success in the early 2000's with Byrne and Steve Hislop
- Ducati is returning as a works team (with PBM), Ducati has not won a race outright in the series since Michael Rutter at Knockhill in 2010
- Leon Haslam has returned to the series and will be on a Kawasaki, which has been the most consistently successful machinery these past 4-5 years
- Rio Kiyo has moved across from BMW and will be on a Suzuki, and man I hope he has a better season than 2015 as he's awesome

Unfortunately I have not seen much of the first BSB round at Silverstone.
But I could watch Michael Laverty and Peter Hickman win as well as the supersport podium . What a great recovery by Hickman against Byrne after having almost lost it to Byrne due to a mistake in Luffield.

I still have it on the box to watch (BSB at Silverstone), I watched the first race but then it was a nice day so we went to Thorpe Park instead. The trouble with Silverstone is it's too wide so even bikes get so spread out on it they get processional after a few laps.

Plus something happened to Leon's bike after a few laps in the first race so even the Mrs wasn't interested in watching after that lol.

Shakey Byrne will start tomorrows BSB race 1 at Thruxton from pole . The supersport race was a fierce battle won by Andy Reid but what a clever move by Tarran McKenzie to allow James Westmoreland the inner line into church for cutting back underneath in final corner out of the chicane for 2nd !

Shakey Byrne wins both superbike races at Brands Hatch today after safety car phases in both races helped him getting near the top. The supersport races yesterday, both won by Tarran McKenzie, were the best all weekend though. Dices with 5 riders until finish line and some real clever but also stupidly ballsy moves in it. Great stuff.
Taylor Mckenzie then went on to win the superstock 1000 race from Ian Hutchinson and Michael Rutter in what looked like a warm up to next weeks Ulster GP

BSB gets ready for the Showdown at Brands Hatch with a triple header this weekend with Leon Haslam still having chances to beat Shakey Byrne for the title. Also Michael Dunlop partners with Dan Sayle on a Birchall bros outfit to take part in the British sidecar championship round.

Well so far they're on their third attempt at running the first BSB race.
big crash at Hawthornes caused the first red flag, one of the bikes cleared the fencing and was last seen heading to Paddock Wood according to Air Traffic Control, and rain caused the second red flag.
Now waiting for the restart...

Race 1 BSB Spoilers:
Peter Hickman won, Haslam binned it on the exit of Druids on the first lap, Shakey was is sixth, extending his champ lead to 27 points.

Half the field crashed out, only 15 riders finished.
If it wasn't so expensive to get in, I'd have popped down, heavy rain predicted for tomorrow though.

Since I saw it live yesterday, I got a feel BSB was laying the red carpet for Byrne.
Jenny Tinmouth needed to be stretchered away, red flag - ok
Howie Mainwaring-Smart needed to be stretchered away, red flag - ok
Then the red flag for, ok

But here it starts. Haslam crashes and has to be stretchered away, but just a yellow flag but hey Byrne fell back at this stage so keep it going was a good idea. Then O'Halloran crashes out and the safety car gets deployed for nothing other than a rider walking away, allowing Byrne to close in on the leading group and keeping a reasonable points collecting place from here.

The handling of the Haslam incident was scandalous to say the least. At a minimum safety car worthy but by the standards set in the before mentioned incident it well could have been a red flag too. I`m not too keen to watch the remaining two races today, but hope to hang around for the second supersport race as well as the postponed second sidecar race
